Youth dies of snake bite

A 25-year-old youth died of snake bite in his house in Biharigarh village, police said today.

Manoj Kumar was bitten by a snake which had entered his house to escape the flood waters of the Ganga, they said, adding that six serpents were found inside the room.

There have been reports of snakes entering densely populated areas after the low lying villages were inundated by the excess waters of the river.
