C-Dac Sets The Atm Ball Rolling

The Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has announced that it has bagged the order for the implementation of campus-wide network backbones at the Punjab University, Chandigarh and the Software Technology Parks of India.

Punjab University decided to go in for the solution from C-DAC after a thorough evaluation of the technology and products. The solution is based upon active components supplied by FORE systems, world leaders in ATM technology. This site will be implemented in two phases and is part of a larger turnkey project being executed by C-DAC, with the L & T group doing the cabling integration. The site will be operational by the end of the next quarter.
