Rakesh P Sharma MUMBAI

SABe TV, the relatively new entrant in the TV channels bandwagon, is thinking about revamping its programmes. As a part of this, it is coming up with a new game show, "Jab Kelo Sab Kelo."

SABe TV is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network, promoted by Gautam Adhikari and Markand Adhikari. They together own 51 per cent in the parent company.

The new game show is slated to go on air from October 15, 2000. The show will be run from Monday to Friday and is hosted by Shekar Suman of Movers and Shakers fame. The winning participant will get a price money of anything between Rs 10,000 and Rs 1.25 crore.

"Unlike Kaun Banega Crorepati, this game show will be played by, more than five lakh, people across the country through their television set and whoever wins, his name will appear on the screen and a special software for this has been developed," said vice chairman and managing director of the company, Markand Adhikari.

He added, "This show will be a game of chance, where information and interactivity is connected."

Further, the company has appointed DialNet, for handling the dial up in 11 cities which include Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur and Hyderabad.

Ernst & Young is appointed as auditors for creating transparency in the show, as a large number people are involved. A massive advertising campaign will be launched through both print and media from October 5, 2000 onwards.

Adhikari said, "This show is expected to increase the popularity of SABe TV, which will be a significant boost for the channel."

Currently, SABe TV has a TRP rating ranging between 30-35 per cent in four metros and some of the Hindi speaking states. In order to promote this programme, the company is cutting its plans to enter into broadcast of feature films on the channel.

Meanwhile, SABe TV,as a part of its revamp, is also introducing three new comedy and religion based programmes in the prime time slot. This is expected to reduce the repeating of old programmes on the channel.
