Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.

A day after HDFC Bank Chairman Atanu Chakraborty resigned on ethical concerns, a top Finance Ministry official on Thursday said the bank is a "strong institution with strong fundamentals".
Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already issued a statement in this regard.
"HDFC Bank is a strong institution with strong fundamentals," he told reporters.
The remarks come after the sudden exit of Chakraborty as chairman of HDFC Bank -- the country's second-biggest lender -- effective March 18, 2026, citing ethical concerns. This is the first time that a part-time chairman of HDFC Bank has left mid-way, raising concerns over its functioning.
Earlier in the day, the Reserve Bank said there were no material concerns on record as regards the bank's conduct or governance.

Realty firm Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd is expecting a revenue of around Rs 3,000 crore from its new housing project in Mumbai.
In a regulatory filing on Thursday, the company said it has launched first two phases of a mixed-use project 'Mahindra Rainforest' on LBS Marg, Kanjur, Mumbai.
"Spanning 25.47 acres, the project is among the largest developments in Mumbai's central suburbs and is envisioned as an integrated lifestyle destination. The residential launch phases have an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of approximately Rs 3,000 crore," it added.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Thursday said it will invest around Rs 1,500 crore to set up a third production line at its Tapukara-based manufacturing plant in Rajasthan.

The CBI on Thursday questioned industrialist Anil Ambani in connection with the alleged Rs 2,929 crore cheating case registered against Reliance Communications Ltd and him on a complaint by the State Bank of India, officials said.
Ambani arrived at the agency headquarters this morning for questioning in the case.
The agency has alleged fund diversion, misappropriation and other irregularities in the loan funds issued to the company by the bank, they said.
The spokesperson for Anil Ambani said in a statement on Thursday that he will be appearing before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Delhi on March 19 and 20 "for examination in connection with the FIR registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the State Bank of India".
"The appearance is in furtherance to Mr Ambani's commitment to extend full cooperation in the matter with all agencies," the spokesperson said.
The CBI had booked Ambani in August last year for allegedly defrauding the SBI to the tune of Rs 2,929.05
