GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd, one of the leading players in the health food drinks market in India, has temporarily suspended operations at its Nabha plant in Punjab following a flash strike by the workers.
“Due to certain disruption created by the workforce/flash strike by the workforce, the management of the company has decided to suspend operations temporarily at its factory located at Nabha with effect from the night of May 21, 2016 in the interest of safety and security of its employees and to protect the assets of the factory,” said GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd in a BSE filing today.
Nabha is one of the three company owned manufacturing sites of GSKCH in India. The other two are located at Rajamundry (Andhra Pradesh) and Sonepat (Haryana). Along with its flagship product Horlicks, the company also manufactures Boost, Viva, Maltova, etc. In addition, it promotes and distributes a number of products in diverse categories including prominent brands such as Eno, Crocin, Iodex, etc.
