Bumrah has now featured in 22 matches across multiple editions of the T20 World Cup, showcasing remarkable consistency on the global stage. He previously represented India in the 2016 and 2024 tournaments and is currently part of the 2026 campaign. Over the years, his ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, particularly in the death overs, has made him one of India’s most dependable bowlers in ICC events, further cementing his legacy in T20 cricket history. South Africa set 188-run target for India
South Africa set a competitive total of 188 for India to chase. Put into bat by captain Aiden Markram, the Proteas faced an early collapse as Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh struck inside the powerplay, reducing them to 20/3.

A counterattacking partnership between Dewald Brevis and David Miller then shifted the momentum. Brevis combined inventive strokeplay with power-hitting, while Miller anchored the innings, reaching a quick 50 off 26 balls and consistently finding the straight boundaries to maintain a brisk scoring rate.

India fought back in the latter overs, with Bumrah taking three crucial wickets to become India’s top T20 World Cup wicket-taker and Arshdeep claiming key scalps, including Marco Jansen. Despite the late breakthroughs, Miller’s 63, along with cameos from Tristan Stubbs and Corbin Bosch, helped South Africa finish strongly at 187/6, setting up a thrilling chase under lights in Ahmedabad.
