UP Election Results 2017: The electoral poor

The richer candidates did not have it easy in this Assembly election. Only one of the top five managed to win. Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali was trailing at Mubarakpur  before romping home by a few hundred votes. Other losers did not even manage the second place. One of them even lost the deposit. A Nawab bit the dust while a Rani won. Money was not everything in this election.
