Pragati Maidan-Bhairo Marg tunnel to be completed in 8-9 months after Centre's nod: Parvesh Verma

The Pragati Maidan-Bhairo Marg tunnel will be completed in eight to nine months after getting approval from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma said on Monday. Verma, along with BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and Public Works Department (PWD) engineers, inspected the upcoming tunnel to take stock of the work. "We have completed all technical reviews and submitted the proposal for final approval to the Centre. Once we receive the go-ahead, we will resume work after the monsoon. This last underpass is vital for decongesting traffic around Pragati Maidan, and we are fully committed to completing it at the earliest," Verma said.

Delhi HC junks Turkish firm's plea against revocation of security clearance

The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed Turkish-based firm Celebi's challenge to the revocation of its security clearance by aviation watchdog BCAS in the "interest of national security". The Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety (BCAS) on May 15 revoked the security clearance, days after Turkey backed Pakistan and condemned India's strikes on terror camps in the neighbouring country.

Former MP and father of MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh passes away at 87

Kunwar Anand Singh, former member of Parliament from Gonda and father of Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, passed away in Lucknow at the age of 87. According to family sources, Singh's health suddenly deteriorated at his residence and he was rushed to a hospital, where he breathed his last on Sunday night.
