Six Maoist rebels arrested for running extortion racket

Hazaribagh, Mar 18 (ANI): The local police arrested six Maoists rebels in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district for running an extortion racket. The rebels are members of Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC), a breakaway group of Maoists. The group of rebels used to threaten businessmen in and around Hazaribagh and seek levy even from National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), a federal government undertaking. Jha added that the police had slapped a separate charge on the rebels for the arms and ammunition, mobile phones and Maoist literature recovered from them.
