Uber appoints Dara Khosrowshahi as its new CEO

San Francisco (United States), Aug 28 (ANI): Uber Technologies Inc appointed Dara Khosrowshahi as its Chief Executive Officer on Sunday. Khosrowshahi will handle the challenge of leading the company to come out of a nearly year-long crisis. He would take on the daunting task of mending Uber's image, repairing troubled relations among investors, rebuilding employee morale and creating a profitable business after seven years of losses. But he would also have to deal with the legacy of Travis Kalanick, Uber's pugnacious co-founder, who was made to step down as the CEO in June after shareholders representing about 40 percent of the company's voting power signed a letter asking him to step down. Earlier, Khosrowshahi was the chief executive of travel company Expedia Inc.
