Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will be the party's leader in the Lok Sabha, the formalities for which will be completed in Delhi. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the success of the INDIA bloc in Uttar Pradesh is the victory of the backward classes, Dalits and minorities, and attributed it to the PDA strategy and efforts put in by the alliance. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav along with four other members of his family won their respective seats as the party established its itself as the largest one in Uttar Pradesh by winning 36 seats and leading in one. Akhilesh Yadav defeated his rival Subrat Pathak of the BJP by a margin of 1,70,922 votes. Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav are leading by a comfortable margin in Uttar Pradesh. The party had fielded five members of the Yadav clan in the Lok Sabha elections. While Akhilesh Yadav is leading by a margin of 61,351 votes from BJP's Subrat Pathak in Kannauj, Dimple Yadav is leading in Mainpuri by a margin of 68,261 votes against her closest rival, BJP's Jaiveer Singh, according to the EC.
