The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday filed a charge sheet in a money laundering probe linked to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of staff and leasing of assets of the Delhi Waqf Board during the chairmanship of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, official sources said. A total of five entities have been named in the prosecution complaint (charge sheet) that includes three alleged associates of Khan-- Zeeshan Haider, Daud Nasir and Jawed Imam Siddiqui-- who were arrested by the central agency in November 2023, apart from some others, they said. Khan, the 49-year-old legislator who represents the Okhla constituency in the Delhi assembly, has not been named as an accused. The Enforcement Directorate has arrested three people as part of a money laundering investigation against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan linked to alleged irregularities in recruitment of staff for the Delhi Waqf Board, official sources said Saturday. The agency had last month raided the premises of the 49-year-old legislator who represents the Okhla constituency in the Delhi assembly. Three people have been taken into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said. Their identities were not immediately known. The agency had alleged that Khan acquired "huge proceeds of crime" in cash from illegal recruitment of staff in the Delhi Waqf Board and invested these for purchasing immovable assets in the name of his associates. The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday raided the premises of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Delhi as part of a money-laundering investigation against him and some others, official sources said. The 49-year-old legislator represents the Okhla constituency in the Delhi Assembly. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches are being undertaken under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The federal agency has taken cognisance of a Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau FIR and a Central Bureau of Investigation FIR against the legislator, related to alleged corruption linked to illegal appointments in the Delhi Waqf Board. Khan is the Delhi Waqf Board chairman.

Delhi court grants bail to AAP MLA Amanatullah's close aide Hamid Ali Khan

A Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan's close aide Hamid Ali Khan, who was arrested after a raid by the Anti-Corruption Branch last week. According to officials, an unlicensed weapon, Rs 12 lakh cash, and some cartridges were found in Ali's premises. Metropolitan Magistrate Snehil Sharma granted relief to Khan, saying the accused has been in custody since September 16, and no further recovery was effected from him. All the witnesses in the case were police witnesses, and a charge sheet or a supplementary charge sheet in the case will take considerable time, the court said. Delhi Waqf Board case: Court sends AAP's Amanatulah Khan to 4-day custody

A Delhi court on Saturday sent AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan to four-day custody of the Anti-Corruption Branch in a case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Waqf Board recruitment. Special Judge Vikas Dhull passed the order on a plea moved by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), which said it needed to interrogate Khan for a thorough investigation. In its plea seeking Khan's 14-day custody, the agency claimed that five of Khan's relatives were appointed in the board, while 22 were from Okhla, which he represents. The Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch on Friday arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in connection with a graft case, officials said. The ACB is probing alleged irregularities in the recruitment in the Delhi Waqf Board, which Khan heads as the chairman. The ACB on Friday conducted searches at Khan's house and other premises linked to him and seized Rs 24 lakh as well as two unlicensed weapons, the officials said.
