Amazon India inks pact with 5 states to empower persons with disabilities

Amazon India has signed a pact with five state governments to engage with employable Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and enable their participation in the mainstream workforce. These states are Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The memorandum of understanding which extends until 2026 aims to provide skilling and employment opportunities to PwD candidates in the five states. "With an aim to engage with employable Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and to enable their participation in the mainstream workforce, Amazon India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with five State Governments, including Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu," Amazon said in a release. Amazon to make investment of $3 mn in nature-based projects in India

E-commerce major Amazon on Monday said it will make an initial investment of USD 3 million in nature-based projects in India. The allocation is part of the company's USD 15 million fund it has allocated for nature-based projects in Asia Pacific (APAC). "The first USD 3 million from the fund's APAC allocation will support nature-based projects in India. "For its first project, Amazon will be working with the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) to support communities and conservation efforts in the Western Ghats, which is home to more than 30 per cent of all of India's wildlife species, including the world's largest population of wild Asiatic elephants and tigers," the company said in a statement. Amazon senior manager murder in northeast Delhi, two more arrested

Two more persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of an Amazon executive in northeast Delhi's Bhajanpura area, police said on Friday. The accused have been identified as Sohail (23), a resident of Noor-e-Elahi in Bhajanpura and Jubair (23), a resident of Mohanpuri in Bhajanpura, they said. Amazon India signs pact with Gujarat Govt, EDII to boost state's exports

Amazon India on Monday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and the Cottage and Rural Industries Department, Government of Gujarat, to help drive e-commerce exports from the state. Amazon will focus on bringing weavers, artisans and other micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Gujarat on Amazon Global Selling, the e-commerce exports programme.
