Army Day 2025: PM Modi, Prez Murmu salute Indian Army for selfless service

On the occasion of Army Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the Indian Army, saying that they stand as a symbol of selfless service, safeguarding the nation with steadfast resolve at times under the most challenging conditions. The prime minister also said that the nation salutes their courage and resolute commitment. "Our soldiers stand as a symbol of selfless service, safeguarding the nation with steadfast resolve, at times under the most challenging conditions. Their sense of duty inspires confidence and gratitude across the country," he said in a post on X. He said the country remembers with deep respect those who have laid down their lives in the line of duty. Army Day is observed on January 15 to mark Field Marshal K M Cariappa taking over as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, replacing his British predecessor General Sir FRR Bucher in 1949.

Ancient wisdom meets AI: Army showcases evolution of warfare in parade

Using vivid digital images generated through AI-based tools, the Indian epics, historic military battles and monumental tales of valour through the centuries were brought alive in a grand show in Pune to mark the 77th Army Day. The nearly 90-minute military extravaganza titled 'Gaurav Gatha' had an exhilarating mix of live combat demonstrations using tanks, mounted personnel, laser and drone shows, and digital displays on giant screens. It was witnessed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, CDS Gen Anil Chauhan, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, and others on Wednesday evening. All-woman Agniveer contingent, robotic mules make debut at Army Day Parade

The 77th Army Day Parade on Wednesday saw many firsts which included an all-girl marching contingent from the National Cadet Corps (NCC), an all-woman Agniveer contingent and a pack of nimble four-legged robotic mules. The annual parade took place at Bombay Engineering Group (BEG) and Centre in this historic city of Maharashtra which comes under the Army's Southern Command. Pune hosted the prestigious parade for the first time. While the Army displayed its military might through some of the latest platforms, the debutants got much eyeballs during and after the event. And, the girl cadets of the NCC and women Agniveers who trained at Corps of Military Police (CMP), Centre and School at Bengaluru, couldn't have been happier. "It is a remarkable day for us. Whatever was done in Galwan shouldn't get repeated, says Army chief

Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday said the situation along the northern border is stable but at the same time sensitive, asserting that "whatever was done in Galwan should not get repeated". He also said that his force is fully ready and capable to deal with any situation. ALHs of Army Aviation fly-past in Rudra formation over Kartavya Path

The Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) of the Army Aviation Corps performed a fly-past over the Kartvya Path in the 75th Republic Day parade on Friday. It was followed by marching contingents of the army. The fly-past in the Rudra formation was led by the newly inducted Prachand helicopter, followed by three Rudra helicopters.
