UP cabinet meet to be held in Ayodhya on Nov 9 as Ram temple opening nears

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet will hold its meeting on Thursday in Ayodhya as the city gears up for the opening of the Ram temple in January. The date -- November 9 -- holds significance as the Supreme Court on this date in 2019 passed its verdict in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, paving the way for the construction of Ram Temple. In 1989, the Vishva Hindu Parishad conducted a shilanyas' (foundation stone laying) for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on November 9. All cabinet ministers have been asked to be in Ayodhya for the cabinet meeting at 11.30 am on Thursday, Ayodhya District Magistrate Nitish Kumar said. Ram Lalla's idol to be placed on 8-ft-tall gold-plated throne in Ayodhya

The idol of Ram Lalla will be placed on an eight-feet-tall gold-plated marble throne inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said on Tuesday. The throne is being made by artisans in Rajasthan and it will reach Ayodhya by December 15, he said. The throne will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram temple, Anil Mishra, a member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said on Tuesday. It will be eight feet tall, three feet long and four feet wide, Mishra said, adding that the construction of the sanctum sanctorum has been completed. The ground floor of the Ram temple has to be prepared by December 15, Mishra said, adding that 80 per cent of the work on the first floor is complete. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday flagged off 51 buses of the state transport corporation that will have women drivers and conductors. Ayodhya on track to become UP's 1st solar city ahead of Ram temple opening

Work is underway on a war footing to develop Ayodhya as Uttar Pradesh's first "solar city" ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, likely to be in January. The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Department (UPNEDA) has undertaken the task to develop the temple town into the state's first "solar city", officials said. Rs 900 crore spent on Ram temple construction till March 2023: Trust

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust has spent Rs 900 crore on the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya between February 5, 2020 and March 31 this year, and still possesses Rs 3,000 crore in bank accounts, trust officials said on Saturday. After a three-hour meeting of trust officials on Saturday morning, its secretary Champat Rai said 18 points were discussed, including the legal process to take donations in foreign currency, and that the trust has applied for the permission under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. "Rs 900 crore has been spent on the construction of temple from February 5, 2020 to March 31, 2023, and more than Rs 3,000 crore still remain in the bank accounts of the trust," Rai said. Rs 127.21 cr project sanctioned for Ayodhya's development in 2017-18: Govt

The Ministry of Tourism as part of its Swadesh Darshan Scheme sanctioned a project worth Rs 127.21 crore in the 2017-18 fiscal for the development of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and the project has been "physically completed", the government informed Parliament on Monday. To a query in the Lok Sabha seeking details of infrastructure development proposed by the government for "the large number of domestic and foreign tourists who will be visiting Ayodhya Ram Temple after its inauguration", Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy also shared details of the work undertaken as part of this project in the temple town.
