BMW Group posts 14% rise in India car sales at 18,001 units in 2025

German luxury car maker BMW Group posted more than 14 per cent year-on-year growth in car sales in India at 18,001 units during 2025, including 730 units of MINI brand, driven by new product launches and ease of financing, the company said on Thursday. The company said its electric car sales spiked 200 per cent as it delivered 3,753 units of BMW and MINI brand EVs during the previous year, commanding the largest market share in luxury electric segment in the domestic market. The company had sold a total of 15,723 cars -- ?15,014 units of BMW and 709 units of MINI brand of cars -- ?in the year ended December 2024. BMW Group India comprises BMW, MINI brand of cars and Motorrad brand of motorcycles. At the group level, the company sold 23,842 vehicles -- ?17,271 units of BMW, 730 units and MINI brand of cars and 5,841 motorcycles in 2025 -- it said. BMW plans to strengthen MINI brand with new models, wider sales expansion

German luxury carmaker BMW is looking to expand the MINI portfolio in India next year in order to cater to rising demand for the range beyond metro cities, according to the company's President and CEO, Hardeep Singh Brar. The company, which now has MINI Cooper, MINI Countryman JCW and MINI Convertible in its portfolio, is looking to expand its sales network in smaller cities and towns as the brand gains acceptance beyond major cities. "We are looking at a couple of more products under the MINI portfolio next year," Brar told PTI in an interaction. The luxury carmaker will be expanding its sales network further next year, adding locations like Jaipur, Lucknow and Ranchi, and all these small towns where the company has no presence currently. "We are present in about nine cities (for MINI). We want to double the number of cities next year, so that it has a presence beyond the metro cities. BMW invests ₹803 cr to boost high-end steel product offerings: MD

Steel maker BMW Industries is setting up a 0.5 million tonne cold rolling unit in Jharkhand at an investment of Rs 803 crore to increase high-end steel products offerings, the company's MD Harsh Bansal said. The investment is being made as part of the government's PLI Scheme for Speciality Steel, the company official told PTI in an interaction. Launched at an outlay of Rs 6,322 crore in 2021 by the steel ministry, the first round of the PLI Scheme aims to promote the manufacturing of value-added steel grades in the country and help the Indian steel industry mature in terms of technology and move up the value chain. The complex is being set up at Bokaro. It will produce colour-coated materials and advanced alloy/non-alloy coated products, which find applications in industries like infrastructure, construction, automobile, renewables and defence, Bansal said. BMW India eyes double digit growth, expects sales to keep momentum in 2025

German luxury carmaker BMW is looking at double- digit sales growth this year having already reported record deliveries in 2024, its India Group President and CEO Vikram Pawah said on Saturday. The company is also expecting its electric vehicle sales portfolio to go up this year. In 2024, BMW Group India posted its best-ever annual car sales at 15,721 units, an 11 per cent growth over the previous year. The BMW brand registered 15,012 units while the MINI brand clocked 709 units in 2024. The group's motorcycle brand, BMW Motorrad sold 8,301 units last year. Asked if the company is looking at a similar growth as last year, Pawah said,"Thinking anything less than a double- digit growth will be understatement for India as a country itself. BMW expects sales momentum to continue next year; lines up 8 new launches

With 2022 turning out to be the best ever year in terms of sales, luxury carmaker BMW India expects volume to remain robust in 2023 as well as it looks to drive in multiple products, including electric sedan i7. The carmaker, which sells products under BMW and Mini brands in the car segment and bikes under BMW Motorrad, is all set to introduce eight products over the next eight weeks in the country. "For us, we believe it (sales momentum) will carry on for sure. We got fantastic products coming next year as well.
