BEIJING (Reuters) - China's finance ministry said on Friday it will suspend additional tariffs on U.S.-made vehicles and auto parts for three months starting Jan. 1, 2019.

Market ends with minor gains

The market ended with small gains as rise in Infosys and Bharti Airtel offset losses in HDFC and Larsen & Toubro. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 33.29 points or 0.09% to 35,962.93, as per the provisional closing data. The Nifty 50 index rose 13.90 points or 0.13% to 10,805.45, as per the provisional closing data. The Sensex ended below the psychological 36,000 mark after moving above and below that level in intraday trade. The Nifty ended a tad above 10,800 mark.

WPI inflation falls to 4.64% in November on easing food, petro prices

India's wholesale inflation fell to a three-month low of 4.64 per cent in November, driven down by decline in prices of food articles, especially vegetables, and some easing in rates of petro products. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based inflation stood was 5.28 per cent in October and 4.02 per cent in November last year. Food articles witnessed softening of prices with deflation at 3.31 per cent in November, against 1.49 per cent in October, government data released Friday showed. Vegetables, too, became cheaper with deflation at 26.98 per cent in November, compared to 18.65 per cent in the previous month. Inflation in the 'fuel and power' basket in November continued to rule high at 16.28 per cent, but was lower than 18.44 per cent in October. This was on account of lowering of prices of petrol and diesel, following a decline in global crude oil prices. Separately in petrol and diesel, inflation was 12.06 per cent and 20.16 per cent, respectively, and for liquified petroleum gas ..

Crude oil futures up on domestic demand

Crude oil prices rose 1.24 per cent to Rs 3,762 per barrel Friday as speculators created fresh positions amid positive cues from the domestic markets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 46, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 3,762 per barrel in a business turnover of 17,978 lots. Also, the crude for delivery in February was trading higher at Rs 3,841, up 1.16 per cent, or Rs 44. However, internationally the oil prices dipped amid concerns over slowing economic growth in China, and as investors cashed in on gains of over 2 per cent from the previous session, although supply cuts agreed last week by major crude producers offered some support. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at USD 52.28 per barrel, down 0.6 per cent, while Brent crude oil futures were at USD 60.99 per barrel, down 0.8 per cent.

Shriram Properties appoints five independent directors

Realty firm Shriram Properties Friday said it has appointed five independent directors to its board, including retired home secretary Anil Goswami. The new independent directors who have joined the board are T S Vijayan (former chairman of LIC as well as IRDA), Anita Kapur (former chairperson of CBDT), K G Krishnamurthy (MD, HDFC Property Ventures), Professor R Vaidyanathan (retired professor of finance, IIM-B) and Anil Goswami (retired home secretary), the company said in a statement. The board also elected M Murali as the chairman and managing director of the company. The new board comprise nine members, including two investor nominees and five independent directors. Murali said the new board would add value to the company's endeavours, as it embarks on the next phase of growth.
