Airtel starts international roaming service for Rs 196 onward

Telecom major Bharti Airtel today launched international roaming packs starting from Rs 196 for its pre-paid customers for 20 countries, including the US, the UK and China. The packs offer limited local calling, incoming calls and outgoing calls to India, according to a company statement. "Starting as low as Rs 196, these voice call packs are available for most popular travel destinations...with these packs customers will now be able to make and receive free local calls and outgoing calls to India," Airtel said in a statement. Customers have the option of choosing from three voice calling packs, starting at Rs 196 for 20 minutes with seven days validity, followed by Rs 296 for 40 minutes and Rs 446 for 75 minutes with 30 days and 90 days validity. Naukri.com owner Info Edge has invested Rs 2.64 crore in digital medical platform Medcords to buy 11.37 per cent stake, according to a regulatory filing. "The company has invested through its wholly-owned subsidiary about Rs 2.64 crore in Medcords Healthcare Solutions Private Limited," Info Edge said in the filing. SpiceJet announces new flight between Hyderabad and Bangkok

Budget carrier SpiceJet today announced the launch of a daily direct international flight between Hyderabad and Bangkok. In the domestic sector, the airline announced daily direct flights between Hyderabad and Guwahati, and between Guwahati and Patna. The flights will begin operation from October 10, SpiceJet said in a statement. "The inaugural fare on the domestic routes are as low as Rs 3,099 whereas on the international route of Hyderabad-Bangkok the inaugural fare for the to and fro journey is Rs 9,999 and Rs 8,299 respectively," the statement read. "We see immense potential in these routes and are proud to be the only Indian carrier to provide direct connectivity between Hyderabad and Bangkok," the statement said, quoting chief sales and revenue officer of the airline Shilpa Bhatia. Prataap Snacks today said it will acquire 80 per cent stake in Gujarat-based Avadh Snacks for a consideration of Rs 148 crore. This would be through a combination of primary and secondary investment, Prataap Snacks said in a statement. Commenting on the development Prataap Snacks MD & CEO Amit Kumar said: "Our acquisition of Avadh will help us accelerate our growth and deepen our presence in the key market of Gujarat."
