Inflation in parts of Germany exceeds ECB target in May

BERLIN (Reuters) - Inflation in some German regions jumped above the ECB's target rate in May, data showed on Wednesday, pointing to robust consumer demand and feeding into a debate about when the European Central Bank should curb its monetary stimulus.

M&M shares continue to gain, up 3 pc

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra today rose by 3 per cent, extending its rally for the second straight session, after the company posted 50 per cent jump in net profit for the March quarter. The company's stock gained 3.08 per cent to settle at Rs 895.60 on BSE. Intra-day, it jumped 3.70 per cent to Rs 901 -- its 52-week high. On NSE, shares of the company went up by 2.78 per cent to close at Rs 894.50. The stock was the biggest gainer on both the key indices at the close of trade. In terms of equity volume, 5.05 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 82 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day. Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra yesterday also went up by nearly 3 per cent, adding Rs 5,719.32 crore to its market valuation in two days. NCLAT stays insolvency proceedings against RCom; directs it to pay Rs 550 cr to Ericsson

The NCLAT today granted conditional stay on insolvency proceedings against RCom and its subsidiaries -- Reliance Infratel and Reliance Telecom, allowing them to proceed with the sale of their assets to Reliance Jio. The tribunal also directed RCom and its subsidiaries to pay Rs 550 crore to Ericsson India in 120 days, failing which it will direct insolvency proceedings against the company. The period would start from June 1. The move provides relief to the debt-ridden telecom firm led by Anil Ambani as it expects to monetise asset worth Rs 25,000 crore from their sale to Reliance Jio. A two member bench headed by Chairman Justice S J Mitttal also directed the Chairman/Managing Director of RCom to file an undertaking regarding payment of the amount. Ericsson India would also file an undertaking before NCLAT over acceptance of the offer. RCom had yesterday offered an upfront payment of Rs 500 crore to its operational creditor Ericsson, which has got an insolvency order against the Anil .
