The National Investigation Agency filed a charge sheet on Wednesday against a CPI (Maoist) cadre in a case related to the conspiracy to damage and block a road in Chhattisgarh with the intent to kill police personnel and loot their arms. One person was killed and at least six were injured in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory in Chhattisgarh's Bemetara district on Saturday, officials said. The explosion occurred in the unit located near Pirda village in Berla development block, a district administration official said. Soon after being alerted, police and rescue teams were rushed to the site, he said. While six persons injured in the blast were taken to Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital Raipur for treatment, one person was brought dead, Public Relations Officer of the hospital Shubhra Singh told PTI. The injured persons are undergoing treatment, she added. The flagship unit of the country's largest steel maker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), BSP, has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) for the solar power generation project within the unit's premises, a statement issued by the plant management said on Wednesday. The proposed plan shall generate about 2 MW of electricity, it said. Besides, a project of rooftop solar energy systems installation on residences and offices in the township is also underway, which has the potential to generate about 3 MW of electricity, it said.
