Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said the INDIA alliance hopes to win 13 of the 14 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the state. Two separate petitions seeking the postponement of general elections in Pakistan on February 8 landed before the election commission, citing growing terror threats and inclement weather. The petitions, filed by individuals hailing from the restive Balochistan province, cited security issues and snowfall in several districts as reasons to seek the postponement of elections, the Dawn newspaper reported. One of the petitions filed by Meena Majeed, a general councillor from Mand tehsil of Kech district through Advocate Fatima Nazar, stated Balochistan was grappling with heightened security concerns. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address a mega rally here on Wednesday and is likely to lay the groundwork for the BJP's upcoming campaign in West Bengal for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Shah will embark on a whirlwind tour of West Bengal this afternoon with BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar confirming that the union home minister will be "leaving the state this evening after the rally". "Amit Shah ji is likely to set the tone for next year's Lok Sabha polls in Bengal," Majumdar had said on Tuesday, echoing sentiments expressed during a rally in April when Shah set a target of winning more than 35 seats from the state. In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the BJP secured 18, out of the 42 constituencies, in West Bengal. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday charged that the "red diary" issue and Mahadev betting app case were a "conspiracy" by the BJP to win assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. An inquiry into the matters should be done by a retired judge of the Supreme Court, he demanded. At a press conference at the Congress office, Gehlot also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, and claimed the BJP wants to "provoke" the Gurjar community in the state. Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday accused the Congress of punishing Sachin Pilot after meting out the same treatment to his father Rajesh Pilot, saying anyone who speaks the truth in the party is shunted out of politics. Sachin Pilot had hit back, saying there was no need for anyone other than the party and the people to worry about him. Gehlot said 72 Gurjars were killed in police firing during the BJP rule when the community held an agitation to demand reservation whereas .
He's been called the Dutch Donald Trump. He's been threatened with death countless times by Islamic extremists, convicted of insulting Moroccans and Britain once banned him from entering the country. Now Geert Wilders has won a massive victory in a Dutch election and is in pole position to form the next ruling coalition and possibly become the Netherlands' next prime minister. An exit poll revealing his landslide appeared to take even 60-year-old political veteran Wilders by surprise. In his first reaction, posted in a video on X, he spread his arms wide, put his face in his hands and said simply "35!" -- the number of seats an exit poll forecast his Party for Freedom, or PVV, won in the 150-seat lower house of parliament. Wilders, with his fiery tongue has long been one of the Netherlands' best-known lawmakers at home and abroad. His populist policies and shock of peroxide blond hair have drawn comparisons with Trump. But, unlike Trump, he seemed destined to spend his life in ...
