Tata Passenger Electric, Shell India partner for EV charging stations

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility on Thursday said it has tied up with Shell India Markets to collaborate in establishing public charging stations across India. The collaboration will leverage Shell's widespread fuel station network and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility's (TPEM) insights from over 1.4 lakh Tata EVs on Indian roads to set up chargers at locations frequently visited by EV owners, the company, a part of Tata Motors, said in a statement. "Through this partnership, we aim to grow the existing charging infrastructure, which is crucial for mainstream adoption of EVs in the country, particularly as the customer base continues to expand," TPEM Chief Strategy Officer Balaje Rajan said. Shell India Markets Director Sanjay Varkey said the company is committed to define the EV charging experience by offering integrated solutions that prioritise convenience, safety, and sustainability.

Adani, TotalEnergies to set up EV charging stations at new MG dealerships

A unit of a joint venture between Adani group and French energy giant TotalEnergies will set up EV charging stations at new MG dealerships to bolster the charing network, the company said on Monday. "Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL), and MG Motor India signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in India," it said in a statement. In terms of MoU, ATEL will set up CC2 60 kW DC chargers at upcoming MG dealerships to bolster the charging network and enhance customer accessibility. "The partnership will also provide a comprehensive solution encompassing supply, installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of charging infrastructure. The budget for the advanced chemistry cell sector has gone up 6x in the last few years, reflecting the government's continuous focus to boost the country's energy storage ecosystem, a senior official said. The National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage was approved by the Union Cabinet on May 12, 2021 with budgetary outlay of Rs 18,100 crore. The scheme is aimed at strengthening the ecosystem for electric mobility and battery storage in the country. The scheme envisages to enhance India's manufacturing capabilities of ACCs by setting up of giga scale ACC and battery manufacturing facilities in India with emphasis on maximum domestic value addition. Electric mobility firm Yulu raises Rs 160 cr capital in equity funding

Electric bike-sharing platform Yulu Bikes on Friday said it has secured USD 19.25-million (Rs 160 crore) capital in equity funding through the issuance of shares to the company's existing strategic investors-- Magna and Bajaj Auto Ltd. The capital infusion will enable Yulu to maintain its growth streak and will strengthen its market leadership as it expands its reach in terms of vehicles, operational locations, and product and technology innovation to keep up with the rise in demand from users, the company said in a statement. Car sharing marketplace Zoomcar on Tuesday said it has partnered with electric vehicles self-drive rental firm SPARKCARS with a plan to introduce over 1,000 EVs on its platform across India within the next two years. Pure EV raises $8 mn from consortium of investors in latest funding round

Electric two-wheeler firm Pure EV on Monday said it has raised USD 8 million (around Rs 66 crore) from a consortium of investors. The funding was led by Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd, Hindustan Times Media Ventures, alongside Ushodaya Enterprises Pvt Ltd, existing investors and high net-worth individuals, Pure EV said in a statement. The Hyderabad-based company said it is currently in the final stage of concluding its Series A1 funding round, amounting to USD 25 million with the participation of a foreign institutional investor. Concurrently, ongoing discussions are taking place with potential investors from Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore for Series A2 funding, targeting an infusion of USD 15 million, it added. Servotech Power, BPCL to set up 1,800 EV charging stations pan India

Servotech Power Systems Ltd (SPSL) on Tuesday said it has secured an order worth Rs 120 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to install 1,800 fast EV charging stations across various locations in India. The project involves two charger variants, 60 kW and 120 kW, Servotech said, adding that it aims to complete this project by the end of this year. In a statement the company said it has bagged an order of 1,800 DC fast EV charging stations from BPCL and the order value is Rs 120 crore. "Our partnership focuses on establishing a dynamic EV charging network that makes EV charging accessible for EV owners nationwide. According to the joint report by management consultancy firm Primus Partners and ETB (European Business and Technology Centre), transitioning the internal combustion engine-powered vehicles to electric vehicles through retrofitting presents a spectrum of challenges.
