North Koreans have gotten their first news that their leader Kim Jong Un had arrived in Singapore for what even the state-run media was calling a historic meeting with US President Donald Trump. The news covered the front page of the ruling party's newspaper and was the top and only item on the first news broadcast of the day on Korean Central Television, which for many North Koreans is the only channel available. People crowded around poster stands at subway stations in the capital to read the newspapers and gathered at noon in front of the city's main train station to watch images a big screen display of Kim getting off of the special Air China flight. The summit continues to be a highly sensitive topic in North Korea.

"Avengers: Infinity War" star Benedict Cumberbatch hopes he gets the chance to continue playing Doctor Strange. The 41-year-old actor, however, said given the ending of "Infinity War", Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is in a better position to reveal if his character will be seen in the next yet-to-be titled Avengers film or stand-alones, Deadline reported. "Oh, Strange? Just try to stop me. That's all kind of lined up as far as I'm aware, but who knows? I mean, you know, the problem is, how does he get out of where he's at. But that's the only thing. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh today apologised for tweeting a picture of a bridge in Pakistan and claiming it to be a railway bridge in Bhopal, days after actor Shabana Azmi did the same over an unverified tweet. A case has been registered against a Tamil TV news channel and others including an MLA in connection with the fracas that broke out during a debate organised by it here recently. Police today said cases have been registered against 'Puthiya Thalaimurai' channel and its reporter, who had booked a private college for holding the debate, MLA U Thaniyarasu and film director Ameer. The channel and its reporter have been charged under IPC sections 153(A) (promoting enmity between different groups), 505 (A) (statements conducing to public mischief) and section 3(1) of Tamil Nadu Property Prevention of Damage and Loss Act, they said. Ameer and Thaniyarasu have been booked under IPC sections 153 (A) and 505.
