Ashton Sanders in talks for 'Native Son' film

"Moonlight" actor Ashton Sanders is in negotiations to star in the film adaptation of the "Native Son". The 22-year-old actor is being considered for the role of Thomas in the film, reported Variety. "Love, Simon" Nick Robinson is also in talks for a role in the film. He will join Margaret Qualley, KiKi Layne and Bill Camp in the cast. The novel, written by Richard Wright, follows a poor, 20-year-old black Chicagoan, Bigger Thomas, as he takes a job as a chauffeur for the wealthy, white Dalton family. When Thomas accidentally commits an act of violence against a member of the family, he engages in an elaborate cover-up scheme that begets more crimes. Rashid Johnson is attached to the project as the director, while "Black Swan" cinematographer Matthew Libatique will be the director of photography.

Former reality TV star Melissa Hancock entered pleas of no contest for driving the wrong way and failing to obey a highway sign in connection with the crash that killed U.S. Coast Guard technician, Daniel Dill.25-year-old Melissa Hancock on Friday entered pleas of no contest to driving the wrong way and failing to obey a highway sign in connection with the November 4 crash that killed 29-year-old Petty Officer 2nd Class Daniel Dill.She was fined $150 and given a trial date of May 23 for a felony aggravated DUI manslaughter charge, The Hollywood Reporter quoted.At the time of the crash, Dill was on his way to pick up his wife and friends, who were celebrating her birthday.Hancock appeared on Lifetime's Little Women: Atlanta, a reality show about women of short stature. Actor DeWanda Wise has revealed that she will not star in the upcoming "Captain Marvel" movie. In January, it was announced that the actor had landed a role in the Marvel superhero movie. In the ongoing 'Call Data Case' that saw actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui being accused of spying on his ex-wife, the Thane Police officials, on Saturday, confirmed that the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' star had no direct role in the case."Nawazuddin Siddiqui has no direct role in the Call Data Record (CDR) case. He was summoned as a witness and has assured cooperation," said Parambir Singh, Police Commissioner, Thane.Earlier, it was reported that Siddiqui and his wife were summoned by Thane's crime branch in connection to the Call Data Records (CDR) racket that was unearthed in January.The duo had been summoned after some of the arrested accused had told the police that the actor's advocate Rizwan Siddiqui had obtained the CDR of the actor's wife from private detectives.Rizwan was held by the Thane Crime Branch and will be produced before the Thane court today.

David Tennant to star in HBO's comedy 'Camping'

Actor David Tennant has come aboard the new HBO comedy series "Camping". The series is based on the UK show by the same name and has been written by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, which star Jennifer Garner in the lead, has an eight-episode order from HBO and both Dunham and Konner are executive producing it via their company A Casual Romance. Garner will play the role of Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, which has been described as "messy, tough and provocative and really really fun". Tennant, 46, will play the role of Walt, Kathryn's "obedient" husband. He is a loving father, who is also the "reliable linchpin" of his male social group. The show will follow a group of people as they come together to celebrate Walt's 45th birthday over a weekend spent back in nature, before it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime.

Noel Clarke joins cast of crime thriller 'The Corrupted'

Actor Noel Clarke is the latest addition to the cast of British crime thriller "The Corrupted". The "Doctor Who" actor joins Sam Claflin, Timothy Spall, Hugh Bonneville and David Hayman in the film, which will be directed by Ron Scalpello. The film's script has been written by Nick Moorcroft.
