Dylan Farrow, who levelled allegations of sexual assault against her stepfather filmmaker Woody Allen over two decades ago, says it is difficult for her to understand why people are slamming her for speaking out. Dylan, who was adopted by actor Mia Farrow and Allen, opened up for the first time in TV interview with Gayle King on "CBS This Morning". In a clip released by the network, Gayle can be seen asking Dylan, "Someone said this to me, 'She wants to bring Woody Allen down. She's caught up in the Me Too, Time's Up movement and this is really what she's trying to do, is bring him down'." To this Dylan responded, "Why shouldn't I want to bring him down? Why shouldn't I be angry? Why shouldn't I be hurt? Why shouldn't I feel some sort of outrage that after all these years being ignored and disbelieved and tossed aside?" Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is coming out with her autobiography, "Citizen Delhi: My Times, My Life", publishers Bloomsbury India announced today. The memoir which will be unveiled on January 27 at the 11th edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival, will take readers through the "lifelong journey of the only female politician in India to be part of a select, overwhelmingly male, band". "When I look back, I see an Indian woman, with what many may call a modern attitude even today, choosing to take the important decisions of her life and be accountable for them," Dikshit said. SC green signals release of 'Padmaavat'

The Supreme Court on Thursday staysed notifications issued by four states - Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat - to ban the release of the film 'Padmaavat'.In its interim order, the court said all states are constitutionally obliged to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident during the screening of the film after permission has been granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).Senior lawyer, Harish Salve, and former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi appeared for Viacom 18, one of the film's producers.Producers of 'Padmaavat' on Wednesday moved the top court to convince the aforementioned states to withdraw their ban on the release of the film.In their plea, the producers questioned the right of these four state governments to ban the film when the apex court has already clarified that the film's screening can only be suspended in a particular area if there is a law and order situation developing.The flick has run into trouble time and again, as ..

"Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo has inked a new two-year contract with the ABC Studios for the potential seasons 15 and 16 of the network's hit show. The 48-year-old actor's deal also gives her a producer tag on the long-running medical drama, along with a co- executive producer credit on the upcoming spin-off of the show, Entertainment Weekly confirmed. Pompeo will now earn USD 575,000 per episode, along with her producing fee in the two aforementioned shows. Actor Keira Knightley said the portrayal of women being subjected to sexual violence in modern films is the reason she prefers doing period dramas. Knightley, however, credited streaming giants Netflix and Amazon for producing original dramas with "strong female characters and female stories". SC allows 'Padmaavat' to be screened across India, stays ban

The Supreme Court today cleared the decks for the all-India release of controversial movie 'Padmaavat' on January 25 and stayed notifications and orders issued by Rajasthan and Gujarat prohibiting exhibition of the film in their states. A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra also restrained any other state from issuing such notifications and orders prohibiting exhibition of the movie. The bench, also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud observed that the states are obliged to maintain law and order. "We direct that there shall be a stay of operation on the notification and orders issued and we also restrain other states from issuing such notifications or orders in this matter," the bench said in its interim order.
