Vin Diesel in talks to play superhero Bloodshot

"Fast and Furious" star Vin Diesel is reportedly in talks to play superhero Bloodsht in Sony's movie adaptation of the Valiant comic book series. Diesel is not new to the world of superheroes. He voiced the character of Groot in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy", reported Entertainment Weekly. Originally created in 1992 by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton, Bloodshot is a former soldier named Ray Garrison who gains superpowers after he is injected with experimental nanites by the mysterious Project Rising Spirit. He gains a white skin and red eyes and the nanites allow Bloodshot to regenerate from any wound, making him an ideal assassin. Bloodshot is planned to be part of a five-film universe from Sony and Valiant. The film is being directed by Dave Wilson while "Arrival" screenwriter Eric Heisserer is writing the screenplay. Sony is planning a 2019 release for the film.

The numbers of people listening to audio books, or those switching on a Kindle might be on the rise, but a strong tribe of readers who still like to hold a book, and sift through pages, continues to flourish. As many readers and publishers wonder about the future of books with the advent of e-books, publishers at the New Delhi World Book Fair are not just confident but are also encouraged by the number of book lovers thronging the Pragati Maidan grounds here. According to them, e-books and books cater to different markets and despite the growing number of e-book readers the older medium is still growing strong. "When e-books came into the market publishers were worried about the future of books and about finding buyers. Talk show host and actor Oprah Winfrey's rousing Golden Globe speech has set social media abuzz with speculation that she might enter politics with many celebrities already looking at her as a possible presidential candidate in 2020. Kunaal Roy Kapur, best known for his performances in films such as "Delhi Belly" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", says one of the biggest struggles for him is to break away from the tag of a comic actor. Kodak ties up with Flipkart for power banks

US-based consumer products maker Kodak today said it has tied up with Flipkart for its power banks. Set to be directed by Arunaraje Patil and backed by Priyanka's Purple Pebble Pictures, the work on the film started yesterday.
