A statue of Assamese music icon Dr Bhupen Hazarika, who brought the Northeastern region to the rest of the country through his songs, was unveiled here in Arunachal Pradesh. Actor Emily Blunt says she is open to reprising her role of Mary Poppins for another film. The 35-year-old actor has taken on the iconic role in Disney's latest film "Mary Poppins Returns", which is a direct sequel to the 1964 original. In an interview with CBS, Blunt said like most superhero films, "Mary Poppins Return" should also get a sequel. "If Mary Poppins is a superhero, most superheroes have sequels," Blunt said. When asked whether she would reprise the role in another film, the actor replied, "Yes. I want to be her again. I like being her." The Madras High Court has declined to entertain a Tamil film producer's plea challenging the censor board's order for cuts and change of title and names of two main characters, which bore resemblance to names of two MPs from Tamil Nadu, in his yet-to-be released movie. Directing petitioner Vaarahi to approach the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FACT) within two weeks, Justice M Subramaniam held that bypassing the tribunal in a routine manner was impermissible and the statutory body created under the Cinematograph Act must be respected by constitutional courts. Filmmaker Ketan Mehta, who had accused Kangana Ranaut for hijacking his dream project on freedom fighter Rani Laxmibai, says, he has "no curiosity" to watch the actor's version of the subject - "Manikarnika the Queen of Jhansi".
