It's a schedule warp for Rajkummar's 'Made In China'

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has wrapped up the first schedule of his upcoming movie 'Made In China', which also stars Mouni Roy.Taking to his Twitter, the 'Newton' star shared a picture with the team of the film, announcing the schedule wrap. He captioned it as, "Schedule wrap #MadeinChina Can't wait to share the film with you guys soon."Starring Mouni Roy as Rao's wife (Rukmini), the film is based on the life of a struggling Gujarati businessman, Raghu (Rajkummar Rao), who embarks on a journey to China in order to make his business flourish. The hilarious journey and several lessons help the 'Omerta' star to become a successful entrepreneur.The film is being directed by National Award-winner Mikhil Musale, who won an award for his 2016 drama-thriller 'Wrong Side Raju'. Rajshri Despande to make cameo in Priyanka Chopra's 'The Sky is Pink'

"Sacred Games" star Rajshri Deshpande says she will be making a cameo appearance in Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar-starrer "The Sky is Pink". The actor says the film's director, Shonali Bose, approached for a small role in the film, which is currently in production. "Shonali is a great friend. Actor Drew Barrymore, who was catapulted to the world of stardom and fame at a tender age of seven, says she does not want her her daughters to face a similar life. Talking to the People magazine, the 43-year-old actor said she will not let her daughters -- four-year-old Frankie and six-year-old Olive -- follow into her footsteps and become child actors. "I'm not going to let them be kid actors. That's so not their journey. If they want to be actors later in life, I would be so supportive of it," Barrymore said. Directing 'The Girl in the Spider's Web' was a double-edged sword: Fede Alvarez

Director Fede Alvarez, best known for "Evil Dead" and "Don't Breathe", is not new to reboots but "The Girl in the Spider's Web" presented a different challenge with its well established legacy in literature as well as in cinema. Starring "The Crown" star Claire Foy as the Swedish vigilante hacker Lisbeth Salander, the film is based on Steig Larsson's famous heroine but not on the original three books he wrote. His film is based on the fourth book in the Millennium series, which was written by David Lagercrantz. The first three books have been adapted in Swedish cinema. Shanker Raman and Pawan Kumar to co-direct Netflix's 'Leila' with Deepa Mehta

Netflix has announced that Shanker Raman and Pawan Kumar will co-direct its upcoming series "Leila". The two will share the directing duties with filmmaker Deepa Mehta who started working on the project, the streaming giant said in a statement. Based on Prayaag Akbar's book, "Leila" will feature Huma Qureshi and Siddharth Suryanarayan in the lead. Set in a dystopian world, the series will follow Shalini, a mother in search of her daughter Leila whom she lost one tragic summer. She deals with various hardships in the course of her search, in a story of longing, faith and loss. Mehta is the creative executive producer while screenwriter Urmi Juvekar is serving as the showrunner on the six-episode series. "Leila" will premiere on Netflix in 2019.

Woman director moves HC against upcoming film 'Mission Mangal' over copyright

A woman director has approached the Bombay High Court against an upcoming film "Mission Mangal" starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, claiming copyright infringement. "Mission Mangal" is being touted as India's first space film. Radha Bharadwaj on Wednesday filed a suit seeking a stay on the production and release of the movie, which is about India's 2014 Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan. Earlier this month, actor Akshay Kumar had announced that he was jointly producing with Fox Star Studios and Cape of Good Films a movie titled "Mission Mangal" on the Mars mission. The film will be directed by Jagan Shakti and its shoot will begin this month. Apart from Kumar and Balan in the lead roles, the movie will also star Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and others. In her suit, Bharadwaj claims that the movie infringes on the copyright of her original screenplay titled 'Space MOMs'. According to the suit, Bharadwaj had given her screenplay to producer Atul Kasbekar in 2016. .

Sony sets release dates for two Spider-Man universe projects

Marvel has announced release dates of two features, hailing from its Spider-Man universe. According to Variety, one of the Spider-Man spin-offs will hit theatres on July 10, 2020, while an untitled sequel coming out on October 2, 2020. The studio, however, did not reveal the details of the projects that will be released. It is being speculated that the first project, coming out July 10, 2020, will be Jared Leto-starrer "Morbius", a spin-off centering on Spider-Man's nemesis Morbius: The Living Vampire. Daniel Espinosa, director of films such as "Safe House" and "Life", will helm the project for Sony, with a script from Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. The second film slated for release could very well be the sequel to Tom Hardy's "Venom", which bowed out last month. Despite poor reviews, the film has amassed over USD 570 million worldwide and is still going strong in China. Hardy is expected to return as journalist Eddie Brock aka Venom in the sequel.
