Luca Guadagnino to adapt Bob Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks' for big screen

Director Luca Guadagnino is set to turn Bob Dylan's album, "Blood on the Tracks", into a movie. The director said "The Fisher King" writer Richard LaGravenese will adapt the 1975 classic LP for the celluloid. In an interview with The New Yorker, Guadagnino revealed a producer of his Oscar-nominated film "Call Me By Your Name" had acquired the theatrical rights to "Blood on the Tracks" and had asked him to make it into a movie. He agreed but on a condition that LaGravenese, whom he had never met, wrote it. It was perhaps meant to be as the screenwriter cleared his schedule and produced a 188-page screenplay following characters through a multi-year story, set in the seventies, that he and Guadagnino had invented, drawing on the album's central themes. Guadagnino's latest directorial to release was "Suspiria".

Wish women had spoken about their #MeToo stories immediately: Bappi Lahiri

Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri says although he is not fully aware of the details of the #MeToo movement, he feels women should come out with their stories of harassment immediately. Bappi said while he is not trying to shame anyone, it does not make sense when a person speaks about an issue years later. "I heard and read about a few cases here. The old cases which are coming out now, my point is, why did you not speak about it when it happened? Why didn't you register a complaint, file an FIR? "The news which is coming out now, I wish it came out earlier. Today we are launching the film's music, there's no point talking about it ten years later." Bappi was speaking at the music launch of "Mausam Ikrar Ke Do Pal Pyaar Ke". The singer said he followed the #MeToo movement when it had rocked Hollywood and believes one should speak up if they have proof. "In India, women are respected the most. Mothers, wives, sisters, daughters. I live in USA too and I can say our culture is really good. .

Marriage to Tom Cruise protected me from being sexually harassed: Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman says she had married Tom Cruise for love and tying the knot with the actor inadvertently shielded her from being sexually harassed in Hollywood. The 51-year-old actor, who was married to Cruise for 11 years, said after their divorce in 2001, she had to start looking after herself. "Being married to Tom Cruise at 22 is something I'm always reluctant to talk about, because I'm married now to the man who is my great love (Keith Urban), and it almost feels disrespectful. "That said, I got married very young, but it definitely wasn't power for me it was protection. I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed. I would work, but I was still very much cocooned. So when I came out of it at 32, 33, it's almost like I had to grow up," Kidman told The Cut magazine. President of the Netaji Play Forum Centre, Jiban Krishna Saha said, they had chosen the theme because of the immense popularity of the franchise. "With the Baahubali series being bumper hits, we hope this theme will attract a large crowd during the puja," Saha said. The pandal bears the shape of the Mahismati palace, as revellers are welcomed inside through a huge gate with two gigantic elephants placed at the entrance. Inside the palace-like structure, there are many rock-cut carvings on the walls such as four horses carrying a big chariot and deities. At one corner, the statue of Baahubali is seen fighting with a buffalo. The budget of the puja, which entered into its 60th year, was Rs 40 lakh, Saha said. "Idols inside the pandal were made by clay artisans from Nabadwip in West Bengal. Decorators are a mix of local artists
