Drunk driving: Vince Vaugh might face prison term if convicted
Actor Vince Vaughn, who has been charged with multiple misdemeanours, including drunk driving earlier in June this year, could now face a possible jail term for almost a year if convicted.In June, police found traces of alcohol in his bloodstream, reported Page Six. It was calculated to be over .08 percent.The 'Wedding Crashers' star, who refused to cooperate with the officer who busted him for driving under the influence of alcohol, was detained and arrested on June 10.The actor is set to attend a hearing in regard to the case in a Los Angeles County Superior Court on September 10. Vaughn might face up to 360 days in a county jail if convicted.
'The Nun' rakes in 12.1 million USD at global box office
Hollywood horror film 'The Nun', the fifth installment in the 'Conjuring' series raked in12.1 million USD from the global box office within two days.Its earnings came from 41 international markets, reported the Variety. It became possible because the majority of its earnings came from its debut in 30 markets that included United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Brazil, and Peru.It generated 2.3 million USD in Indonesia in the first two days itself; while in Brazil, it earned 986,000 USD. It was the second biggest horror movie in the South American country after 'It'.Previews in the U.K. generated $855,000 on 516 screens with a 54 percent share of the top five films, double the first day of previews for "The Conjuring 2." An additional 19 markets open Friday, including Spain, U.K., and Mexico.The movie is set in 1952 Romania where a Catholic priest and a novice are sent by the Vatican to investigate a suicide committed by a nun.

Trailer of 'The Beach Bum' is finally out
The trailer of Matthew McConaughey's upcoming movie 'The Beach Bum' is out. The brand new trailer was released on Friday.McConaughey co-stars with Isla Fisher, Zac Efron of 'Baywatch' fame, '22 Jump Street' star Jonah Hill, Jimmy Buffett and rapper Snoop Dogg, to name a few, reported The Hollywood Reporter.The film is based on the rebellious Moondog (Matthew McConaughey), who loves to live life to its fullest. Rapper Mac Miller dies at 26
Few months after the death of rapper XXXTentatcion in July, another young prodigy Mac Miller died at the age of 26.The 'Self-care' rapper passed away on September 07. According to TMZ, Miller died of a possible drug overdose in California on Friday.Miller who was known for drug addiction was recently involved in a car accident. On August 21, the Los Angeles Attorney's Office had filed charges against him for driving under the influence of alcohol, reported The Hollywood Reporter.After the accident, he was booked for a hit-and-run case and was arrested on May 17. Had he been convicted, he could have faced a jail term for six months.Miller collaborated with big names in the music industry included 'Maroon 5', singer Pharrell Williams, and even did a tour with rappers Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.His debut album 'Blue Slide Park' in 2011 topped the music charts.
Serbia to submit 'Offenders' for 91st Oscars
The East European country of Serbia has officially chosen 'Offenders' to be submitted at the 91st Oscars under the 'foreign language film' category.The film which is directed by Dejan Zecevic's Izgrednici is a story about three university students who decide to set up different experiments around the city in order to prove the "Tetris" chaos theory to be practical, reported The Hollywood Reporter.Under this theory, the human nature moves from order to a state of anarchy.The movie, which was released in Serbia on March 8, is country's 25th film to be submitted at the Oscars since its independence from Yugoslavia in 1992.But till date, no Serbian film was nominated or won an Oscar. Notably, in 2008, Goran Markovic directorial 'The Trap' made it to the shortlist.

Biopic on Rocky Johnson in the works

Rajinikanth's next film is 'Petta'
Superstar Rajinikanth's next flick is titled 'Petta' which has an impressive star cast that includes Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tamil star Vijay Sethupathy. Produced by Kalanithi Maran-promoted Sun Pictures, the title of the movie roughly translates to stronghold. The motion poster of the film, relesed today, shows 67-year old Rajinikanth, sporting a beard and coolers, walking with a weapon while flashing his trademark smile. The poster indicated the film could be an action flick. 'Petta' is directed by 'Pizza'-fame Karthik Subbaraj and has Trisha Krishnan and Simran also in the cast. Anirudh has scored the music. Rajinikanth's last film, released in June this year, was the trilingual 'Kaala', which had received mixed reviews.
