Vietjet launches direct flights from Mumbai to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City

South-east carrier Vietjet on Saturday announced the launch of its direct flight services to the financial capital from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City. It said services on the Hanoi-Mumbai-Hanoi route will be operated three times a week, while the Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh City flights will be run four times per week. Vietjet started its operations in India in December 2019, connecting New Delhi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The services were discontinued following India suspending commercial international passenger flight operations in late March 2020 due to the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic. After the government lifted the ban on March 27 this year, Vietjet announced resumption of operations along with expansion of its services between Vietnam and India. First direct flight between Gorakhpur-Varanasi under UDAN-RCS flagged-off

The first direct flight between Gorakhpur and Varanasi was flagged-off on Sunday.SpiceJet was awarded the route under the RCS-UDAN 4.1, as per a press release by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.The airline will be operating daily flights and will deploy its Q400, 78-seater turboprop aircraft designed for shorter-distance flights on the route. SpiceJet is India's largest regional carrier. The airline operates 63 daily flights under UDAN connecting 14 UDAN destinations to various parts of the country, stated the press release.At present SpiceJet is providing its services at Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur and Kushinagar airports in Uttar Pradesh.
