The G20 Summit in India will be an opportunity to make progress in implementing joint responses to major global challenges, France said on Tuesday, announcing its President Emmanuel Macron's participation in the conclave. Macron's office said the president will travel to Delhi to participate in the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10 following which he will leave for Bangladesh for a bilateral visit. In a statement, it said the summit will enable Macron to continue his ongoing dialogue with his counterparts from every continent to combat the "risks of fragmentation" of the world. The Delhi Police on Tuesday said the whole city will remain open during the G20 Summit, barring a part of the area under the NDMC. The police, in different posts on microblogging site X, said all the essential services such as milk booths and hospitals will remain functional in the New Delhi area. "Whole Delhi is open. Just a small part of NDMC will have restrictions... It is once again reiterated that restrictions are only imposed in a small portion of NDMC area. Don't believe in rumours," the Delhi Police said. Key govt functionaries visit G20 sites to take stock of preparedness

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and the prime minister's Principal Secretary P K Mishra were among the senior government functionaries who on Sunday visited key sites related to the upcoming G20 Summit meeting to take stock of preparedness for the mega event. Spouses of heads of state of various countries who will soon gather here for the G20 Summit, will be treated to a special lunch at the iconic Jaipur House, on the sidelines of the mega event, sources said. The menu will also include millet-based delicacies, they said. The G20 Leaders' Summit will take place on September 9-10 at the newly-built international convention and exhibition centre -- Bharat Mandapam -- at the Pragati Maidan. "Besides, special exhibitions and cultural activities at the main Summit venue, an event is also being hosted for the spouses of the leaders at the Jaipur House that is home to the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA)," an official source said. 4th G20 Sherpa meet to begin from today in Haryana's Nuh district

The fourth G20 Sherpa meeting will start in Haryana's Nuh district from Sunday. The meeting will be held till September 7 at the ITC Grand Bharat hotel, near Tauru, and Lemon Tree hotel. All the preparations for the meeting have been made, the district administration said on Saturday. Special decorations have been made by the Haryana government on the route from the Sirhaul border to the Khedki Daula toll plaza, Rampura flyover. Two lanes each have been set up on both sides of the Kherki Daula toll plaza for the meeting, officials said. G20 meet in Delhi to affect services of over 300 intercity, express trains

The Northern Railway has released a list of more than 300 trains whose services will be impacted due to the G20 Summit to be held in Delhi on September 9 and 10. Keeping in view the advisory issued for security arrangements, these trains have been either cancelled or diverted to other routes or stations temporarily between Sep 8 and 11, an official statement said. According to the Northern Railway, services of 207 trains have been terminated, terminals of 15 trains changed and routes of six trains diverted. Besides, 70 trains, including Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani, Tejas Rajdhani Hazrat Nizamuddin, Varanasi-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani among others, have been given additional stoppage stations to minimise passenger discomfort, it said. The origin and termination stations of 36 trains have also been changed and three trains will not stop at Delhi's Kishan Ganj during the summit, it said.
