Kremlin says believes Saudi royals on Khashoggi killing

The Kremlin said Friday that Russia believes Saudi royals were not involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi after Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed it with Saudi King Salman. Asked by a journalist whether the Kremlin fully believes that the Saudi royal family played no part in the murder in Istanbul, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the question was "inappropriate." Putin spoke to the 82-year-old Saudi king by telephone on Thursday evening and they discussed "the situation around the case of Khashoggi," the Kremlin said in a statement. Khashoggi, a Washington Post contributing columnist who had criticised policies of powerful Prince Mohammed, had been self-exiled in the United States for about a year. 2 Yosemite National Park visitors die in fall from overlook

Two visitors died in a fall from a popular overlook at Yosemite National Park that allows people to walk to the cliff's edge, where there is no railing, an official said Thursday. Park rangers were trying to recover the bodies of a female visitor and a male visitor spotted by another tourist Wednesday, spokesman Scott Gediman said. Officials are still investigating when the pair fell and from what spot at Taft Point, which is 900 metres above the famed Yosemite Valley floor, he said. Railings only exist at a small portion of the overlook, which is popular for its breathtaking views of the valley, Yosemite Falls and El Capitan and fissures on the granite rock that plunge to the valley floor. More than 10 people have died at the park this year, some from natural causes and others from falls, Gediman said.
