After delaying salary to its pilots and engineers along with senior management, Jet Airways has now defaulted on the payment of September salary to other categories of employees as well, an airline source said Wednesday. The Mumbai-based full-service airline, partially owned by UAE national carrier Etihad Airways, has been facing financial problems for quite some now. The Naresh Goyal-controlled airline is struggling to mop up funds to meet its payment obligations, including salaries to its over 16,000-strong workforce. "We generally get our salary on the 1st of (every) month. Last month, the airline had paid to all employees except senior management, pilots and engineers on time. "But this time (September), they have failed to pay even to other categories of employees such as manager and above levels," the source said. Realtors body NAREDCO Tuesday said it has signed agreement with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to provide skill training and jobs in the construction sector for 2.5 lakh poor people. The Haryana government has enhanced the social security pension by Rs 200 per month, state Finance Minister Abhimanyu said Monday. The enhancement would be effective from November 2018. With this increase, the beneficiaries under all the social security pension schemes will get the benefit of Rs 207 crore annually, he said. The minister said the Manohar Lal Khattar government is moving forward in a fast pace towards fulfilling all its promises. In this series, the elderly pension has been increased to Rs 2,000 per month from Rs 1,800 currently. Ryanair slashed its profits forecast Monday and signalled job losses in the Netherlands and Germany, as the Irish no-frills airline revealed the fallout of pan-European strikes by its disgruntled staff. The Dublin-based carrier cut its annual net profits forecast by 12 per cent owing to recent walkouts by pilots and cabin crew that has forced it to cancel hundreds of flights over the summer peak season. Ryanair lowered its estimate for annual profits after tax to 1.10-1.20 billion euros (USD1.27-USD1.39 billion) from a range of 1.25-1.35 billion euros for its financial year ending next March.
