MEIL secures $225.5 mn project from Kuwait Oil Company for gas sweetening

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has secured a USD 225.5 million (KWD 69.23 million) project from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) involving design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a New Gas Sweetening and Sulphur Recovery Facility (NGSF) at West Kuwait's oil fields, a top official said on Friday. This project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis, with an option for KOC to buy back the facility. It will be executed in two stages - Execution Phase and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Phase, P Doraiah, Director of MEIL said. "We are honoured to partner with Kuwait Oil Company for this strategic gas sweetening facility in West Kuwait. This project reflects MEIL's commitment to delivering world-class energy infrastructure that enhances environmental safety and operational efficiency," he added in a press release. MEIL commissions 5 solar plants in Maharashtra having capacity of 19 MW

Infrastructure company MEIL on Saturday said it has commissioned five solar plants in Maharashtra having a combined capacity of 19 megawatt (MW). The plants were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually, Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) said in a statement. "MEIL has commissioned five solar power plants with a total capacity of 19 MW under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM KUSUM) scheme across Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Solar Plants and Dedicated to the Nation," it said. The five solar plants are at Shambhaji Nagar (3 MW), Nanded (5MW), Kolhapur (3MW), Akola (3MW), and Buldhana (5 MW) in Maharashtra. These power generated from green plants will provide uninterrupted electricity to farmers for the cultivation of their lands that will reduce the burden of cost of electricity bills. CBI FIR against second-biggest electoral bond buyer Megha Engineering

The CBI has registered an FIR against Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, which was the second-biggest buyer of electoral bonds worth Rs 966 crore, in an alleged bribery case. Eight officials of the NISP and NMDC and two officials of MECON were also named in the FIR for receiving alleged bribe of around Rs 78 lakh in clearing bills of Rs 174 crore of Megha Engineering in connection with works related to Jagdalpur integrated steel plant, officials said Saturday. Megha Engineering had emerged as the second-biggest buyer of electoral bonds and donated the highest amount of about Rs 586 crore to the BJP, according to the data released by the Election Commission on March 21. The company also donated Rs 195 crore to BRS, Rs 85 crore to DMK, and Rs 37 crore to YSRCP. The TDP got about Rs 25 crore from the company, while the Congress got Rs 17 crore. BS ReporterHyderabad, 7 August: Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited(MEIL) has bagged city gas distribution project in ten districts of Telangana state. The company said it would build a net work of 3,100 km pipeline over a period of eight years to supply cooking gas to about 5.5 lakh households in these districts.The Centre had invited bids to establish cooking gas distribution network in 22 states covering 174 districts. Megha Gas is currently engaged in city gas distribution services at Agiripalli and Kanuru of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh and Tumkur and Belgavi in Karnataka.
