Record sales in sight for 2023, Mercedes-Benz India bullish on 2024 outlook

Set for another record sales this year, Mercedes-Benz India is confident of carrying forward the momentum to 2024 despite supply concerns, company Managing Director and CEO Santosh Iyer said on Thursday. The company on Thursday launched two fresh products -- new SUV GLE priced between Rs 96.4 lakh to Rs 1.15 crore and AMG C 43 with price starting at Rs 98 lakh, completing its planned launch of ten products for 2023. "Overall yes, another record year for us. We still have two months to go but at this stage from a demand perspective (it is) strong. From the supply side, we have to improve from here on and with that we should end the year on a high note," Iyer told PTI in an interview on the sidelines of the launch here. Mercedes on track to continue record sales in 2023 amid surging demand

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz expects 2023 to turn out to be its best year in terms of sales in India as the demand for high-end cars continues to grow post the Covid pandemic, according to a top company official. The carmaker, which sold 15,822 units in the Indian market in 2022, its highest ever in the country so far, anticipates the overall luxury car segment to post its best ever performance this calendar year. In an interaction with PTI, Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Santosh Iyer said the company reported a 13 per cent year-on-year growth in its sales at 8,528 units in India in the first half of 2023, its best-ever half-yearly sales in the country. "We are now coming into the third quarter of this year, and we feel the trend should continue which should mean that we should be able to end this year on a record high once again," he noted. Mercedes-Benz drives in new SUV GLC in India, eyes double-digit sales

Luxury auto maker Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday launched the latest version of its premium SUV GLC in India with price starting at Rs 73.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The second generation GLC comes with petrol and diesel power trains tagged at Rs 73.5 lakh and Rs 74.5 lakh, respectively. The auto maker said the company has received over 1,500 bookings for the model since the start of the booking process. In an interaction with PTI, Mercedes-Benz India Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Lance Bennett said the company is looking at a double-digit sales growth this year with GLC sales expected to account for 15 per cent of the company's total sales. "We've got some really good demand in the first couple of weeks of order taking. The GLC is a very important product for us," he said. Mercedes Benz India eyes double-digit growth in market share in 2023

Mercedes Benz, India's largest luxury carmaker aims to achieve a double digit growth in market share this year, a top company official said on Monday. The company sold 15,822 cars last year, the highest in the luxury segment and achieved double digit growth, Mercedes-Benz India Vice President Sales and Marketing, Lance Bennett told reporters here. He was speaking after inaugurating a revamped MAR20X showroom in the city, boasting of a dedicated MAR20X EQ Display and Exclusive Corner for Top End Vehicles (TEV). Tamil Nadu was an important market for the vehicles in India, with 45 per cent growth, contributing 20 per cent to the pan India market and Coimbatore has showcased a robust 32 per cent year on year growth, Bennett said.
