Government sources said a 100-day agenda for immediate steps to be taken after a new government is formed in May was deliberated upon during the meeting for its quick implementation. They said the roadmap for "Viksit Bharat" is a result of more than two years of intensive preparation and involved a "whole of government" approach involving all ministries and wide-ranging consultations with state governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, scientific organisations and mobilisation of youths for inputs. Centre govt suffering from 'anti-Punjab' syndrome, says Arvind Kejriwal

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday alleged that the Centre is suffering from "anti-Punjab" syndrome and asked the people to punish it in the coming Lok Sabha polls. 2023 most successful year for anti-drugs operations in Assam: CM Himanta

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said 2023 was the most successful year for the state in terms of anti-drugs operations. The chief minister said drugs worth Rs 718 crore were seized over 4,700 arrests made during the period. "The Modi government is deploying a whole-of-government approach to build a #DrugsFreeBharat," Sarma wrote on X. The Narendra Modi government has abolished more than 1,550 outdated laws that were troubling citizens, Union Minister Arjun Meghwal said on Saturday. He was speaking at the concluding session of the regional industrial conference underway here. "The Modi government has abolished more than 1,550 unnecessary laws that troubled people and businessmen. Once, there used to be a law to whitewash industrial units to protect workers from diseases. Laws like these that had lost their relevance were scrapped," he said. The Union government has set up separate commercial courts and arbitration centres acting on industry demands, Meghwal added. The Centre has given legal power to arbitrators by making changes in the relevant provisions, the Union law minister said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said Direct Benefit Transfer of Rs 34 lakh crore has been facilitated by the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) and asked accounts officers to further enhance efficiency and transparency of the system. In a written message to the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and the Indian Civil Accounts Organisation (ICAO) on the occasion of the 48th Civil Accounts Day, Sitharaman said PFMS has been the cornerstone of establishing an efficient fund flow system alongside a robust payment and accounting network. PFMS is the management information system used by officers of the Indian Civil Accounts Service to maintain the accounts of the government.
