4 dead, 27 injured as bus and truck collide on Jaipur-Bikaner highway
Four people were killed and 27 others injured after a bus collided head-on with a truck on Jaipur-?Bikaner National Highway in the Sikar district of Rajasthan on Tuesday night. The sleeper bus was travelling from Bikaner towards Jaipur when they rammed into each other. The police said that four persons died in the accident, adding that 15 injured were admitted to the Sikar district hospital while 13 were given primary treatment at Fatehgarh. One critically injured person referred from the Sikar district hospital to SMS Hospital in Jaipur died during treatment, the police said. The group of passengers was returning Gujarat after visiting Jammu and Kashmir when the accident occurred, the police added.

'Bandh' observed in Latur against police action on Maratha quota agitators
A 'bandh' was observed in Latur on Saturday against police action on Maratha quota agitators in Jalna a day earlier, which had left some 40 policemen and many protestors injured as well as arson resulting in damage to several buses. On Friday, police had resorted to baton charge and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse a violent mob in Antarwali Sarathi on Dhule-Solapur road that allegedly refused to let authorities shift a man on hunger strike to the hospital. The shutdown, which was called by the Maratha Kranti Morcha following a meeting of the outfit at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharj Chowk here at 10am, saw shops and other establishments downing shutters and private and state-run MSRTC buses off the roads. Most schools and colleges too were shut during the day, officials said. A motorcycle rally was organised by the outfits supporting the demand for reservations for Marathas in jobs and education, they said. Omar hopes foreign policy issue dictated by national interest
With the clout of regional parties reduced due to BJP's massive win in the Lok Sabha polls, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today hoped that issues like foreign policy and water sharing agreements between states would now be dictated by national interest. "Hopefully foreign policy, water sharing agreements & things like these can be dictated by what is in national interest now onwards," he said on Twitter. The Chief Minister said it must be a "strange" feeling for regional political parties with more than 30 members in the Lok Sabha to have no say at the Centre. "It must feel so strange for regional leaders with 30+ MPs to have no say in Delhi. Earlier, they would sneeze & the Center would catch a cold," he said. NDA which comprises BJP and 24 smaller parties bagged 335 seats. The BJP won 282 seats on its own. The half way mark is 272 in the 543-member House.
