Rs 1,000 cr in 2023-24 budget for land acquisition for 'New Noida'

The Noida Authority on Sunday said it has earmarked Rs 1,000 crore for acquisition of land for area which would be known as 'New Noida'. The authority also made a provision of Rs 500 crore for land acquisition in the existing Noida area, while it set aside Rs 1,906 crore for infrastructure and development work, it said in a statement. The announcements were made after the 209th Board Meeting of the Noida Authority held in presence of UP Industrial and Infrastructure Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh. The Noida Authority Board approved a budget of Rs 6,920 crore for 2023-24 during the meeting, also attended by Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari. "A target of Rs 8,920 crore in revenue and Rs 6,503 crore in expenditures has been set by the Noida Authority Board for the financial year 2023-24," the Authority said in the statement. Amid a rise in Covid cases, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Health Department on Thursday issued a set of recommendations that includes practising social distancing and use of face masks at offices, schools, colleges, and cinema halls, among other public places. For workplaces, the guidelines recommend the use of sanitisers, proper cleaning of offices, thermal temperature scanners at office entries, and work-from-home option for employees showing signs of cold, cough, fever, and flu and suggested Covid test for them. The guidelines came as Gautam Buddh Nagar, adjoining Delhi, registered 114 more positive cases of Covid on Thursday, pushing the tally of active patients across Noida and Greater Noida to 396 -- the highest so far this year, according to official data. Covid-19 pandemic: Noida DM reviews situation as active cases near 150

Amid the rise in COVID-19 cases, Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Monday reviewed the pandemic situation and directed officials to ensure adequate arrangement for oxygen and hospital beds to meet any eventuality. During the review at the auditorium of Integrated Control Centre at HCL's facility in Sector 60, Verma directed the administration officials to strengthen mutual coordination in order to prevent the spread of infection, officials said in a statement. Max Group's realty firm Max Estates will invest around Rs 3,400 crore over the next five years to develop two housing and two commercial projects in Noida and Gurugram as part of its expansion plan. Rs 5,000 fine on vehicles not having high-security number plate in Noida

Starting Friday, private vehicles registered in Noida and Gautam Buddh Nagar but not having a high-security registration plate (HSRP) will be penalised Rs 5,000 as per law, police said on Thursday. According to officials, the HSRP was introduced by the central government and vide a notification in December 2018 made mandatory on commercial and non-commercial vehicles manufactured or registered after April 1, 2019. A deadline was also set for the implementation of the HSRP, ending on February 15, 2023, they said. The time period provided for installing high-security registration plates on vehicles was February 15 and it has ended now. Accordingly, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic police and the local police at thana levels will start a campaign to take action against vehicles not having HSRP, holding them liable for faulty number plates, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Yadav said. Over 13,000 families to relocate in phase II development of Noida airport

Around 18,500 families will be affected by the second phase development of the Noida International Airport and over 13,000 of them will have to be relocated, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said on Wednesday. The MLA said heeding to the demand of villagers, it has been decided that the families which need to relocate will now have two options for resettlement - near Faleda Cut and at Modelpur, both near the airport. Noida gets investment intents worth Rs 5.86 trn ahead of investor summit

Gautam Buddh Nagar, which includes industrial cities of Noida and Greater Noida, has received investment proposals worth Rs 5.86 lakh crore since the announcement of Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit in November 2022, according to district officials. The UP Global Investors Summit is scheduled from February 10 in Lucknow and the state government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has set a target of Rs 17 lakh crore investments through the ambitious drive. In the run-up to the GIS, Adityanath had also instructed state officials to hold investment summits at district-level in each of the 75 districts of the state, while road shows are being held in other states and foreign countries as well to attract investments. Noida investor summit attracts investment proposals worth Rs 11,500 crore

Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Friday received investment proposals of about Rs 11,500 crore from around 50 investors at the district-level investors' summit, officials said here. Around 250 investors participated in the summit held at the Indira Kala Kendra in Sector 6 here in presence of UP MSME minister Rakesh Sachan, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, District Magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, among others. "We got investment intents worth Rs 11,502 crore from 50 investors during the Gautam Buddh Nagar investors' summit today, Deputy Commissioner (Industries) Anil Kumar told PTI.
