Noida teen critical after luxury car hits him while jogging, driver nabbed

A 14-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car while jogging on a service road in Noida Extension, with the police arresting the driver of the luxury vehicle, according to officials. The boy is being treated at a private hospital and his condition is critical, on official said. The incident took place around 6 am on January 9 near Stellar Jeevan Society in the Bisrakh police station area when the Jaguar car allegedly struck the boy from behind, as per a complaint lodged by the victim's father, Murari Singh. "My son Neeraj was running on the service road when the Jaguar, driven recklessly, hit him from behind. He sustained serious injuries to his head and chest and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital," Singh has said in his complaint. A police spokesperson said that following the complaint, an FIR has been registered at the local police station. SPPL targets 1 mn TV sales in 2025; expands capacity, global brand licenses

Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), a TV and home appliances manufacturing company having licenses of several global brands for the Indian market, targets to cross the mark of one million units of TV sales in 2025, helped by capacity enhancement, expansion of portfolio and increasing presence in offline channels, said director and CEO Avneet Singh Marwah. The Noida-based company, which has a portfolio of global brands including, Thomson, Kodak, Blaupunkt, White-Westinghouse and White-Westinghouse (Trademark of Electrolux), plans to add licensing rights for two more global brands in the Indian market. Besides, it also plans to enter into new categories like refrigerators and expand its play in appliances, including washing machines, coolers, and more. "This year we are closing around 6,00,000 units of TVs, and next year's target is 1 million," Marwah told PTI. Housing price at Noida Expressway jumps 66% in 5 yrs: Anarock data

Housing prices in Bengaluru's peripheral location Gunjur have risen by 69 per cent in the last five years, while Noida Expressway in Delhi-NCR witnessed 66 per cent appreciation, according to Anarock. Real estate consultant Ananrock's data showed that average housing prices in Noida Expressway stood at Rs 8,400 per sq ft in the September 2024 quarter against Rs 5,075 per square feet in 2019. NCR's peripheral area Sohna saw price growth of 43 per cent to Rs 5,900 per sq ft from Rs 4,120 per sq ft, while prime area New Gurugram witnessed a 59 per cent rise in the same period. Dwarka Expressway saw a significant 93 per cent jump in average housing prices to Rs 10,350 per sq ft from 5,359 per sq ft. CAG report on DND flyway shocking, says SC, NTBCL gave gold coins to staff

The Supreme Court on Friday said the CAG report looking into the financial record of the DND project in 2016 revealed shocking details including distribution of corporate gifts like gold coins to its employees, sub-staff and drivers. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan upheld the Allahabad High Court order of 2016 directing the private firm Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd (NTBCL) to stop collecting toll from commuters plying the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) flyway connecting South Delhi and Noida. "The CAG report shockingly reveals that the directors of NTBCL, including Pradeep Puri (who it seems was a senior bureaucrat), apparently did not perform any responsibility, yet all their expenses, including high-end remuneration were added in the total project cost," it said. UPSIDA accelerates development projects in Surajpur area near Noida

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority has fast-tracked several key infrastructure projects in the industrial areas of Surajpur in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, officials said on Friday. The initiatives aim to bolster industrial growth, attract large investors, and contribute to Uttar Pradesh's ambition of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy, according to UPSIDA Chairman Mayur Maheshwari. Bharat Mobility Global Expo to see higher footfalls this year: EEPC

The second edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, scheduled to be held at three different venues in the National Capital and Great Noida, is expected to see more than three times footfalls this year compared to the inaugural version year, Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) said here on Thursday. The upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA) on Thursday said it has partnered with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to provide a premium, all-electric taxi service for passengers flying to and from the facility. The round-the-clock and seven days-a-week service will feature premium pick-up and drop-off facilities located at the arrival and departure kerbs, minimising walking distance, NIA said. Passengers will be able to book rides through various channels, including a dedicated mobile app, website, call centre, airline alliances, and airport kiosks. This multi-channel approach will guarantee accessibility and ease of booking for travellers, it said. The fleet will be managed with a focus on real-time dynamic adjustments based on passenger demand and flight schedules, reducing wait times, and extending service availability, NIA said. Realty firm Signature Global is looking for land in Noida and Greater Noida to expand the business and will explore taking over stalled housing projects as well provided there are no legacy litigations. Signature Global, which got listed in 2023, has a significant presence in the Gurugram market of Delhi-NCR. Landing trials at Noida airport postponed, likely to begin from Nov 30

The landing trial at the Noida International Airport, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed after failing to get the required permissions from the DGCA, an official said. The test is likely to begin from November 30, he said. After the calibration report was approved, there was a plan to start testing on the runway from November 15, under which it was planned to land and take off three aircraft each of aviation companies Indigo and Akasa daily. Dr Arunvir Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), said, "Due to non-receipt of permission from Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the test of the runway of the proposed Noida International Airport from November 15 has been postponed. It is expected that the test will start from November 30. Preparations are being made accordingly.' After the completion of the test, the aerodrome license will be issued by the DGCA, only after which the airport will be ready for commercial operation
