The "inappropriate behaviour" of some opposition MPs led to their suspension from Parliament and the country would not benefit from their "negative politics", Union minister Bhupender Yadav said Tuesday. Oppn to strongly raise demand for Shah's statement on security breach

The constituents of the opposition INDIA bloc Tuesday decided to strongly raise on Tuesday the demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on the Parliament security breach issue in both Houses. This was decided at a meeting of the alliance's constituents in the Parliament complex, a day after 78 MPs in both houses were suspended for raising the demand. The suspended MPs have also decided to protest near the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the Parliament complex. "The demand for Home Minister Amit Shah's statement will continue and the suspended MPs will protest in front of the Gandhi statue," Congress whip in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore said after the meeting. Telangana Speaker recognises K Chandrasekhar Rao as Leader of Opposition

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) president and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was on Saturday recognised as the Leader of Opposition in the assembly. The announcement was made by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar in the House. Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm on Friday amid protest by the Opposition parties after Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar rejected their notices to suspended the scheduled business of the day to discuss the security breach in Parliament. Soon after the listed papers were laid on the table, the Chairman informed the House that he had received 23 notices regarding the "serious situation" arising from Wednesday's Parliament security breach. Dhankhar said investigation on the incident is underway and it will be taken to a logical conclusion. "I unable to persuade myself to allow the notices," he said, which led to a protest by Opposition parties. Some of the opposition parties also raised the issue of suspension of TMC member Derek O'Brien from the House for the remaining part of the Winter session scheduled to conclude on December 22. Opposition MPs on Thursday slammed the Centre over suspension of Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien from the Rajya Sabha and taking no action against the BJP MP who authorised the entry in Parliament of the two men who caused the security breach. O'Brien was on Thursday suspended from the Rajya Sabha by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar for the remainder of the Winter session for "unruly behaviour" and "misconduct."
