JNU prof says Mufti ordered removal of barriers that led to Pulwama attack; PDP to take legal action

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday termed a JNU professor as "diabolical and ignorant" after the latter alleged that vehicle checking on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, where a terror attack killed 40 CRPF personnel, was relaxed by the former chief minister. Rahul appoints 6 AICC secretaries for UP

Congress president Rahul Gandhi Tuesday appointed six AICC secretaries for Uttar Pradesh --three each attached to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia were appointed AICC general secretary in-charge of UP east and UP west respectively in January and took charge earlier this month. Zubair Khan, Kumar Ashish, and Bajirao Khade were named as AICC secretaries attached to Priyanka Gandhi, a party statement said. Pak army violates ceasefire in J-K's Rajouri sector

Pakistani army on Tuesday evening violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in the bordering state of Jammu and Kashmir.The violation took place at around 7 pm. No casualties have been reported so far. According to sources, the Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively.More details are awaited. This comes close on the heels of a terror attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama district on February 14 in which as many as 40 jawans were killed, and many others were injured.Only recently, India had summoned Pakistan High Commission official and had lodged a strong protest at the unprovoked firings along the LoC in the Valley.
