39-year-old supporter of Sabarimala verdict's house attacked

The house of a 39-year-old teacher Aparna, who advocated the entry of women of all ages into Sabarimala Temple, was attacked by some unidentified persons on Wednesday late night in Kerala's Kozhikode city.Aparna, a cancer survivor openly, is known for openly supporting a few young women who expressed their willingness to climb up to Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala.At the time of the attack, Aparna and her 13-year-old daughter were alone in the house. Attackers pelted stones at the house and left window panes broken.On October 27, an ashram in Kerala, founded by preacher Sandeepananda Giri, who also supported the apex court verdict allowing the entry of women of menstruating age to the Sabarimala temple, was allegedly attacked by some unidentified persons. Congress never opposed Ram temple, even Muslims want it now: Raj Babbar

Congress leader Raj Babbar said on Thursday his party was never opposed to the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and he now felt that even the Muslim community wanted it. The decision on the vexed issue, however, will be taken by the Supreme Court, he told reporters ahead of the November 28 Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls. Religious beliefs shouldn't be ignored: Mahila Cong chief

: Describing Sabarimala as a 'sensitive' issue, President of the All India Mahila Congress Sushmita Dev Thursday said religious beliefs and customs should not be ignored. 3-day break in Odisha assembly session

The ongoing winter session of Odisha assembly is observing a three-day break since Wednesday because of various festivals. VHP demands removal of Rajbhar from UP cabinet

Upset over SBSP leader Om Prakash Rajbhar's remark that seers of Ayodhya were raking up the Ram temple issue for their "livelihood", the VHP on Thursday demanded removal of the minister from the UP cabinet. Polish nun who rescued Jews during Holocaust dies at 110

Officials in Poland say that a 110-year-old woman believed to be the world's oldest nun and a rescuer of Jews during the Holocaust, has died. Father Pawel Rytel-Andrianik, spokesman for Poland's Roman Catholic Church, on Thursday confirmed the death of Sister Cecylia Roszak last week at a Dominican convent in Krakow. He described her as "probably the oldest nun in the world" and someone remembered as saying that "life is so short and passes so quickly." Born March 25, 1908, Roszak joined the convent at age 21. During the German occupation of Poland during World War II, when she was in her 30s, she was one of several nuns who set up a new convent near Vilnius, today in Lithuania, sheltering Jews who had escaped the ghetto there.

A South Korean cult leader was convicted Thursday of the multiple rape of eight female followers -- some of whom believed he was God -- and jailed for 15 years. Finns held in Malaysia over 'Christian pamphlets'

Four Finns have been arrested on a holiday island in Muslim-majority Malaysia for allegedly distributing pamphlets about Christianity, police said Wednesday, and may face up to five years in jail. Kerala HC orders state govt to explain imposition of Section 144 in Sabarimala Temple
