Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday imposed a penalty of Rs 8 lakh on Reliance Home Finance for failing to make disclosures pertaining to NCLT order issued in June 2021 to the stock exchanges. The fine has to be paid within 45 days, the Securities and Exchanges Board of India (Sebi) said. In its order, Sebi noted that Reliance Home Finance has not made disclosures with respect to the NCLT order dated June 21, 2021 and also did not disclose information regarding appeals filed by it and Bank of Baroda against the NCLT's order. As per the NCLT's order, Reliance Home Finance was directed to pay the interest on the debentures at the contractual rate, calculated till realisation, within two months and redeem the debentures on payment of the principal in three months thereafter. Going by the order, the outstanding amount due and payable in respect of the secured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) was more than Rs 2,850 crore. India exposure in such global ETFs could be capped at 20%
Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday proposed facilitating investments by mutual funds in overseas funds, which invest certain portion of their assets in Indian securities. This is subject to the fact that the total exposure to Indian securities by such overseas funds should not be more than 20 per cent of their net assets, Sebi said in its consultation paper. The move would help keep Indian fund of funds (FoFs) true to their label, coupled with cost effectiveness, for investors. Considering strong economic growth prospects of India, the country's securities offer an attractive investment opportunity for foreign funds and accordingly, various international indices, exchange traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds (MFs), unit trusts (UTs) allocate a portion of their assets to Indian securities, Sebi noted. As of April 30, 2024, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index has a little over 18 per cent weight to Indian securities. Similarly, JP Morgan's Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund' holds .
Flexible workspace solutions company Awfis Space Solutions Ltd on Thursday fixed a price band of Rs 364-383 per share for its Rs 599 crore initial public offering. The company's maiden public issue will open on May 22 and conclude on May 27 and the bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on May 21, according to a statement. Awfis Space Solutions' proposed initial public offering (IPO) is a combination of fresh issue shares to the tune of Rs 128 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 1.23 crore shares worth Rs 471 crore at the upper end of the price band. This takes the total IPO size to Rs 599 crore. Promoter Peak XV Partners Investments V (formerly known as SCI Investments) and shareholders Bisque Limited and Link Investment Trust will offload shares in the OFS. At present, Peak XV holds 22.86 per cent stake in Awfis Space Solutions, Bisque and Link Investment Trust own 23.47 per cent and 0.36 per cent stake, respectively, in the company. Sebi to gather suggestions on applicability of financial disincentives
Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd, the maker of Officer's Choice Whisky, has received Sebi's go-ahead to raise Rs 1,500 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), an update with the markets regulator showed on Tuesday. The initial share sale comprises fresh issuance of equity shares worth Rs 1,000 crore and an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of shares to the tune of Rs 500 crore by promoters, according to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP). As a part of the OFS, Bina Kishore Chhabria, Resham Chhabria Jeetendra Hemdev and Neesha Kishore Chhabria will sell shares. Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd, which filed preliminary IPO papers with Sebi in January, obtained its observations on May 10, the update showed. Capital markets regulator Sebi has amended rules making it mandatory for at least one key personnel within an investment team of an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) manager to obtain requisite certification. The new requirement is aimed at boosting competency and professionalism in the AIF space. In a notification dated May 10, Sebi said, "At least one key personnel, amongst the associated persons functioning in the key investment team of the Manager of an Alternative Investment Fund, shall obtain certification from the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) by passing the NISM Series-XIX-C." To give this effect, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has amended AIF rules. The new rules have been made applicable from the same date.
