An impressive show by Rajasthan Royals' bowlers kept the side alive in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 15 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Tuesday.

Rajasthan Royals lived to fight another day with a 15-run win over Kings XI Punjab as KL Rahul's unbeaten 95, coming amidst a surprise batting meltdown, went in vain in the Indian Premier League here tonight. Opting to bat in this must-win game, Rajasthan Royals could only muster 158 for eight despite Jos Buttler's blazing 58-ball 82 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The home team, however, staged a strong fightback with the ball as it restricted Kings XI Punjab to 143 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs. Languishing at the bottom of the table prior to this game, RR have now moved to sixth place, while KXIP remained in third position. Kohli Confusion: BCCI names skipper for Ireland T20s despite county commitments
The national selection committee's decision to name India skipper Virat Kohli for the two-match T20 series against Ireland has created confusion as it's clashing with his county commitments for Surrey. There were rumours in the BCCI corridors that the section which wasn't happy with Kohli skipping the one-off Test match against Afghanistan, has played a role in cutting short his county stint in favour of the T20 Internationals against the minnows. India are set to play two T20's against Ireland in Dublin's Malahide on June 27 and 29 while Kohli is scheduled to play his last county match for Surrey against Yorkshire at Scarborough from June 25 to 28. Minerva Punjab FC eased past Mohammedan Sporting Club 3-0 in the final to triumph the inaugural U-13 Youth League at the Barasat Stadium today. Mumbai Hockey Association secy calls for fresh elections
Mumbai Hockey Association (MHA) Secretary Kehar Singh has called for fresh elections and also unification of all hockey players and clubs affiliated with the association for promotion of the sport. Singh's move came after the Charity Commission rejected the 'change report' submitted by the present hockey body 'The Mumbai Hockey Association Limited (TMHAL)'. The TMHAL had filed a change report before the commission, claiming to be the apex body. However, the commission rejected their claim by stating that TMHAL is governed under the Company Act, while the Mumbai Hockey Association was registered under the Society Registration Act and the Maharashtra Public Trust Act on November 23, 2005, said a media release issued by the MHA.
