Rohit Sharma should open for Mumbai Indians: Lalchand Rajput
Former India batsman Lalchand Rajut believes that Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma should open the innings for the defending champions as it can give the team a good start. "Rohit is a prolific opening batsman, who has done exceptionally well for India as an opener. So opening and playing free is important for him. If you start well, then you can pile up a big score. You have to open with Rohit, as simple as that," Rajput told PTI. "When you bat at number four after losing two wickets that is a different ball-game rather than opening. All 104 ICC member countries to get T20I status
All 104 International Cricket Council (ICC) member countries will be granted T20I status, said ICC CEO David Richardson on Thursday.Currently, only the 12 full member countries and Scotland, Netherlands, Hong Kong, UAE, Oman and Nepal were eligible to play T20Is.Addressing a press conference here, the ICC CEO said that T20I status will be applicable to both men and women's cricket."All Women's team matches will be awarded T20 International status on July 1, 2018. NEROCA FC's Tondonba Singh set for Chennaiyin FC shift
: I-League team NEROCA FC's Ngasepam Tondonba Singh is set to move to Indian Super League champion Chennaiyin FC. The 23-year old left-back will make the shift on a "free transfer" when the summer transfer window officially opens in June, a press release said here. Sprinter Dutee Chand will be a relieved person after four years of ordeal as she no longer falls in the purview of the new rules announced today by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) pertaining to female athletes who have high testosterone levels. The new rules, which the IAAF put under the heading 'Difference of Sexual Development' (DSD), will require athletes such as South Africa's Olympic and world champion 800m runner Caster Semenya to reduce their blood testosterone levels if they want to compete internationally. Dutee competes in 100m and 200m while the new rules cover races from 400m to the mile, including 400m, hurdles races, 800m, 1500m, one-mile races and combined events over the same distances. These new regulations, approved by the IAAF Council in March, will come into effect from November 1 and replace the previous Regulations Governing Eligibility of Females with Hyperandrogenism to Compete in Women's Competition, which no longer apply anywhere in .
