My processes are working, I can trust my game: Rishabh Pant on Test cricket experience

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant believes that the most satisfying part of his Test cricket experience so far is that his "processes are working" in the format and that he could completely trust his game. The 21-year-old said that doing good or bad is not a matter of concern for him but making his processes work is."I just focus on my processes. I don't see whether I am doing well or badly. Because results obviously matter, but at the end of the day, your processes are important. Whatever processes have brought me here, I need to focus on that. On my work ethic, on how much time I devote to wicketkeeping process, what I need to do before matches," Pant told ESPNcricinfo. The most satisfying part of my Test experience is "that my processes are working. That I can trust my game."Pant played his first test match last year in England, a country which is considered as tough when it comes to wicket keeping and facing fast bowlers. South Africa seek to bounce back after Perera heroics

South Africa will be seeking to bounce back in the second Test against Sri Lanka, starting at St George's Park on Thursday, after Kusal Perera'a heroics handed them a chastening defeat in the first Test. Perera became a national hero in Sri Lanka after scoring an unbeaten 153 in Durban to guide his country to a sensational first Test victory in South Africa. Although it was Perera who stole the headlines in the team's dramatic one-wicket win, the rest of the players rose to rookie captain Dimuth Karunaratne's challenge to "compete in every session". With Sri Lanka having a largely unheralded bowling attack, it seems South Africa seriously under-estimated their opponents. In consequence, South Africa are likely to have a change of strategy after going into the Durban match with a four-pronged pace attack as well as spinner Keshav Maharaj. It left them with only six recognised batsmen. Left-arm swing bowler Vishwa Fernando and debutant left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya took eight and .

Bengaluru FC offer to play friendly in Srinagar, Real Kashmir invite them in March

Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Bengaluru FC Tuesday offered to play an exhibition match against Real Kashmir in Srinagar to support the I-League debutants after defending champions Minerva FC pulled out of their match, citing security concerns in the wake of Pulwama terror attack. Real Kashmir thanked the ISL club and invited them in March for a friendly fixture, assuring the guests "the most electric football atmosphere". I-League defending champions Minerva on Monday moved the Delhi Hight Court after the AIFF refused to relocate their match against Real Kashmir from Srinagar. AIFF has placed the matter in front of their own league committee for a decision. Even East Bengal have conveyed to the AIFF their concerns about the February 28 match against Real Kashmir but refrained from making an outright pullout threat. However, a tweet from Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal would certainly lift the spirits of the Real Kashmir players and their fans. "Dear @realkashmirfc we @bengalurufc ..

Indonesia submits formal bid to host the 2032 Olympics

Indonesia has submitted a bid to host the 2032 Olympics, officials said Tuesday, after the Southeast Asian nation's widely lauded handling of the Asian Games last summer. Muliaman Hadad, Indonesia's ambassador to Switzerland, submitted a formal bid letter from President Joko Widodo to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne last week, the foreign ministry confirmed Tuesday. "This is the right moment to show Indonesia's capability as a big country," Hadad said in a statement made public this week. Widodo publicly expressed Indonesia's interest in hosting the 2032 event in the capital, Jakarta, during last year's Asian Games -- the world's second biggest multi-sport event behind the Olympics. India has also expressed an interest in hosting the 2032 games while North and South Korea have said they might enter a joint bid. The IOC will announce the 2032 host by 2025. If successful, Indonesia would be the fourth Asian Olympics host after Japan, South Korea and China. The next

Young Aussie batsmen miss the guidance of Smith and Warner: Josh Hazelwood

Australia's vice-captain Josh Hazelwood has said that the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner created lack of experience in the batting department, with youngsters having no one to look up to in the series against Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. The 28-year-old pacer said that none of Shaun Marsh or Usman Khawaja can be universally regarded as senior batsmen while adding that that advice from coaches cannot teach you everything."It's just so important to have those couple of senior guys when you bring those couple of young guys into the top six to learn from. You just can't teach some things as coaches, you have to learn out in the middle batting with a senior person, so I think the other young batters will really feed off having them back," Hazelwood told ESPNcricinfo."The likes of Marcus Harris, Travis Head and Marcus Labuschagne, all new batsmen in the Test side, suffered for the lack of guidance at the other end from players who had found ways to be consistently high scorers at .

I-league clubs appeal for a unified league

Eight premier I-league clubs, namely Mohun Bagan, Chennai City FC, Aizawl FC, Neroca FC, Minerva Punjab FC, Churchill Brothers and Gokulam Kerala FC, have appealed together to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for a unified league from next year onwards. The demand came in the backdrop of possible merger of Indian Super league (ISL) and I-League in the coming future. Since the ISL is currently headed by Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) which is a joint venture between IMG-Reliance and Star Network, the I-League clubs fear that after the merger, they would be relegated to second tier of the Indian football, goal.com reported. These clubs do not want FSDL to run the top tier of the Indian football. Their point is that the top division league of the country should be operated by the AIFF itself and not by some private entity. The clubs want to arrange a meeting with AIFF president Praful Patel and discuss what the future holds for the league as they are against their ...
