Tech Mahindra's Gurnani makes Rs 147 cr from ESOPs
Tech Mahindra's chief executive officer C P Gurnani received more than three times higher salary last fiscal. The fifth largest IT services company offered its top employee a total remuneration of Rs. 150.7 crore including stock options. Gurnani's compensation grew nearly 233 per cent from Rs 45.3 crore in FY16. Vice Chairman Vineet Nayyar's compensation grew eight-fold from Rs 2.2 crore to Rs. 19.9 crore. While Gurnani's total remuneration grew significantly, he received a 54 per cent hike excluding the his stock options. In FY16, Gurnani's remuneration had grown 5.6 per cent excluding stock options. This in stark contrast with rival Infosys' chief executive officer Vishal Sikka's remuneration which fell 67 per cent during the same period to Rs 43 crore (from Rs.71 crore). N Chandrasekaran, who was CEO of largest IT services firm TCS till February 2017, took home little more than Rs.30 crore including large share of commission as annual remuneration.
