Reasi bus accident: J-K admin suspends DSP for 'dereliction' of duty

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday suspended a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of the traffic wing for alleged dereliction of duty related to a major accident here last month. As many as 22 people were killed and 64 injured in the incident that took place in the Akhnoor area here on May 30. The administration had on May 31 suspended six transport department officials for alleged negligence in duty in connection with the accident. "In accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, Satish Kumar, DSP, Traffic Rural, Jammu, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect," said Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of Home Department, in an order issued tonight. During the suspension period, the officer will remain attached to the police headquarters, the order said. Six life-saving surgeries were performed on the most critically injured patients of the terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, doctors said. 5 schools in Delhi, 1 in Noida receive bomb threats; searches underway

Two Delhi schools have received a bomb threat via email here on Wednesday morning, police officials said. Mother Mary School at Mayur Vihar in east Delhi and Delhi Public School at Dwarka received the bomb threats, they said. The school premises was evacuated after local police was informed, they added. Bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad and officials of Delhi Fire Service have been rushed to the school and a search operation is underway, a police officer said.

Pakistan security forces kill 7 terrorists in restive KP province

Pakistani security forces have killed seven terrorists trying to infiltrate the country's border with Afghanistan in the restive Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, the military said. The security forces detected a movement of the seven terrorists near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Spinkai area of Ghulam Khan in the tribal district of North Waziristan, the ISPR, the military's media wing, said.
