The UPSC has started a one time registration (OTR) facility for government job aspirants who will now not be required to fill in their basic details every time they apply for different recruitment examinations. The aspirants, who wish to apply for any future examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), are required to register themselves in the OTR platform by filling up their basic personal information indicated therein. "A large number of aspirants apply for a host of examinations conducted by the UPSC throughout the year to select officers for different central government departments/organisations. The OTR platform will help them in saving time and make the application process more easy," a senior official said on Wednesday. Delhi Metro services will begin two hours earlier than its scheduled time on June 5 to facilitate candidates appearing for civil services examination, officials said on Friday. "Metro train services on Phase-III sections which usually begin at 8 AM on Sundays will begin at 6 AM this Sunday i.e, June 5, 2022. This arrangement is being made to facilitate the candidates appearing for Civil Services (Prelim) Examination held by UPSC this Sunday," the DMRC said in a statement. These sections include, Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda); Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City; Mundka-Brigadier Hoshiar Singh and Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden. Metro services on rest of the sections will remain running as per normal schedule, from 6 AM onwards, the DMRC said.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday launched a toll-free helpline to help government job aspirants from economically weaker sections and backward classes among others. The UPSC conducts civil services examination to select the country's bureaucrats, diplomats and police officers among others and also holds other tests to recruit government officers. "This initiative is also a part of the commission's endeavour of undertaking queries of such candidates in a friendly manner," the UPSC said in a statement. The helpline will remain operational on all working days during the office hours, it said. 25-year-old Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirant died by suicide in Delhi's Rajender Nagar, informed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan.The deceased was identified as Akanksha Mishra who was preparing for UPSC, she stated.Chauhan informed that the incident took place on Friday and the Police Control Room (PCR) call was received in Rajender Nagar police station at 11:50 pm about a suicide.According to the DCP, the deceased was found hanging from the ceiling fan the Prima facie informed.There were no other external injuries aside from the ligature marks on her neck and the door was locked from inside, it said.The inquest proceedings under S 174 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) have been initiated accordingly.
